I am not a specialist for this, but I can imaging that this is not possible. If two persons open a route, to makes changes and one is quicker, how will this change be seen by the other. A kind of live sync is needed.
Open a route for one person for editing and then blocked for the other could be possible.

Never used something like "Google Docs"?
In Google Docs it is a standard feature to edit the document simultaneously.
You see what the another person (incl. the name) is typing/editing while your are also typing/editing that document. This is instant.
Collaborating editing is a theoretical strength of cloud based software.
So. Yes, it is possible. I do not know if the MRA platform technically supports this.

(I use MRA Next only on Android Auto. Every comment, suggestion, etc will be based on my usage with Android Auto)

It looks like a lot of people would love to have that feature. Even if there is somtheing that prevent multiple edits at the same time, that would be fine. As long as we don't have to use route and then recopy it on another folder.

And for access rights, in the group section, there is already Admin and Users so we can easily configure who can edit and who can only use.

Is there a member of the development team that can chime in to confirm if that can be added to the development path ?

With the release of the big v5 update of our app, most our resources will shift to the (new) website development. This will definitely be a feature 🙂

I prefer a solution, where only one user can edit a route at a time and have a versioning system in the background. For me it is one thing to work in a text oriented document or collaborating in a brainstorming tool, but a very different one working on such a complex thing like a route where the impact of changes of individual users could be a) very extreme and b) difficult to "reconstruct" what have been done.

@TomOnTour that might be not too difficult. You can block a file (route in this case) once it is openend by someone else. I agree, otherwise it will be chaos.

@TomOnTour ...yes, I agree: without discipline, each discussion or common work can fall in chaos.
But I love it to work in a team; also in developing a group ride. It can be funny and will bring the whole team in a good mood, if each member can spend input - just in front the tour.

I would like to wait for an idea, how the MRA developers will be able find a realisation. Then it's still the right moment if this solution idea will bring a benefit for tour guides 😉
