Navigation guidance dissapeared

Hi all.
Yesterday I was following a route in the Android version of MRA. At some point the visual guidance in the upper left corner stopped working. Also no zoom when I had to take an exit etc.
The app simply showed a roundabout icon with 2 arrows
, or whatever you call it, see screenshot.The lady kept talking however.

@Makro the icon represents, the system is recalculating the route currently. Usually it will be done in seconds, but if it lasts longer, may device is temporary not connected to internet.

Well, it lasted for an hour, until I stopped and fixed it, by restarting the app. So it wasn't lack of data connection. Besides, data was present, as you can see on the screenshot.
If indeed the data connection was lost, a warning should appear, instead of just stopping part of the app. That would have been a really bad algorithm, and MRA is not badly designed, right?
