My guess is that you cannโ€™t ask the Devs team to do something against the law

I assume travel time shown is based on posted speed limits. In the USA cars and trucks generally travel faster than speed limit at a minimum of 5 mph and motorcycles are 10 mph on streets and rural roads. On the interstates motorcycles are 10 to 15 mph faster than posted speed limits or 80 to 85 sometime 90 mph in 70 mph speed limit in rural areas.

@Richard-4j travel times are actually calculated from data the map providers have for the average speeds of traffic on each segment of road,
so a busy road with a speed limit will probably have a lower average speed than a quiet road with the same limit,
speed limits are not really a factor except for the fact that they supposedly regulate the upper limit of speed ๐Ÿ˜‚

this is a very reasonable request.
i stopped using another app because the times were not accurate and the app did not offer an option to apply a correction.
wether it is technically doable or not is another question.

It's not against the law at least in the US that allows a user select the his actual travel speed when planning a route.

I understand the cartography companies include the government posted speed limits in there data. The MRA program is using that data to determine the travel times. I'm only requesting that MRA consider changing the software so their customers can adjust the travel time to the actual speeds they expect to travel at, be it faster or slower, to determine more accurate ETA time.

If you see you're travel time and you now you will be speeding.then you will be there earlier.

                Correct

The MRA program is using that data to determine the travel times.

Incorrect, travel times are calculated on the average speeds that road users actually manage to drive on the actual roads. You obviously did not read my post

Yes I fully understand that you want a user adjustable factor so you can adjust your expected times
but you don't really need MRA to provide that factor,
you can just learn how far out the current MRA times are compared to your travel speed & work it out

i think that we are talking about 2 different times here: 1) the duration of a tour which we see in e.g. the opening page of a route in the app and 2) the estimated time of arrival to the next stop while driving.
The latter one I definitely don't want to recalculate in my head while driving many times during a day. Luckily for me the times HERE comes up with are pretty good in my area.

                    I like this answer ๐Ÿ˜‰

@richard-4j, the amount of possible speeding is strongly dependent on where and on what kind of roads you drive. I think it is safe to say that MRA definitely does not want to encourage speeding, and besides that, a fixed "correction" will just not work in all circumstances. The time of travel will always be nothing more than an indication.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

I used to use Tom Tom, that was annoyingly always 13-20% too slow in its estimate for duration. But I got used to adjusting it in my head. Having moved to MRA this is, annoyingly, not far off on time estimation but I still knock off 15% in my head! Being stupid.

I did a 265 mile ride, 70 percent rural road, 30 percent interstate. the time MRA estimated was 7hr 23m. Actual time, riding the bike was 5hr 42 m. Unless I've discover warp drive, there is a disconnect in the software of the actual speed limits on the route.
