Can't add waypoint when Route (outline) added via Route Details.

I noticed recently that if I've planned a route and want to compare it to a prestigious route by adding it via the (Route Details) button then (Routes) button. Then I can't click on the like to add a waypoint. I can only do so where the overlay Route isn't running across the current route. Also there's no way to turn the overlay Route off. You can only delete it or Merge it.

@JP-d Zoom in on the map as far as possible and press and hold on the line of your route. For me, this does insert a route point with a number between the two intended points.
