We therefore do not even give warnings in Germany πŸ˜‰

@Corjan-Meijerink are you forced as manufacturer, by law to disable it in Germany? Or would it be enough to pop up a warning with the message "usage of it is prohibited in Germany!"?

In my opinion, a manufacturer would sufficiently fulfil its obligation by providing the relevant information.

It is up to each individual to decide whether they want to comply with the law!
We do not need an additional layer above the law enforcement authorities.

    Nothing is impossible ;-)

In this case we are forced by the software supplier - HERE simply does not provide the information for countries where it is not allowed

I have written this earlier: just use an app like Flitsmeister on your phone and let it do it's highly appreciated work in the background. I know it's not legal in some countries, but the chance of getting caught is negligible, specially if you wear your phone in your pocket. I love it.

@Rob-Veerman Don't want another app!! I subscribe to MRA and that s what runs on the bike. And I only do that because it Bluetooths to my radio on my bike...So therefore no using the phone on the bike. If it is available on MRA I wanna use it....It will pop up on my bike screen and all will be good...

I live in Germany and I have my own speedcam warning: the sound of my engine, combined with the gear it's in, tells me fairly accurately with which speed I am travelling (no, not driving, since I watched a few videos of American sovereign citizens 🀣).

@Rob-Veerman Or you could, you know, just not exceed the speed limit, which is there for a reason, and not be a hazard to others and yourself. There really are plenty of legal opportunities to go really fast (in Germany, especially).

We really don't need a debate about the use of speed camera warnings / user preferences in how to drive / the desire to please the law.

I feel like the question of @D-Griffin is answered so this thread will be locked.
