PQ2POI converter (for geocachers)
-
As an aid for myself and perhaps fellow geocachers, I published a small webpage that converts your Pocket Query into a more helpful POI file. I know that Pocket Query GPX files can easily be imported into the POI library of MyRoute-app, but the presentation in the planner as well as in the app is not very informative.
This is how a default POI looks when imported from a Pocket Query directly.
It is not telling muchThe script I made combines the GC code, the name of the cache and the URL to the cache into the name field of the POI, and strips the file from all non-standard groundspeak extensions.
Resulting into a much friendlier presentation
Of course this is not intended to replace any geocaching app, but if you like to take hikes, walks or bicycle routes, you can easily import a track into MyRoute-app, and import a an accompanying PQ of the same area to see on MyRoute-app the caches that are within reach of your track.
Free to use for anyone, without any warranty
Happy caching!
