Voice Navigation anncouncement too quiet
-
@M.-Schrijver, I do not remember the slider's looks changed much. That volume slider just mimics the phones volume buttons and system slider. Some claim it is louder since that changed, but personally I don't notice any difference regarding the loudness of the voice.
@Con-Hennekens I would also welcome it if it were louder, because at the moment it is sometimes difficult to understand.

Hi at all, a üretty good workaround for Samsung Smartphones can be Sound Assistent from Samsung market place. I test IT during my holiday Trip and use mra Navigation App in my car and carpuride. And I am verry happy, with it. My better Part of m life means mra is better than g**** maps..more detailed. More professional. directions where early enough and very good. (Peter thanks for your crash course)
Hava a good ride all time

Dear MRA Team,
am using Myroute app 4.4.0-404. During the navigation the Voice get quiet, and quiet.
When using the volume down buttons, the voice announcement becomes quieter and quieter. You can no longer increase it while driving. Eventually you can no longer hear the announcement at all. If you want to vokume up it doesn't.
The volume always refers to the connected BT device. The Myroute, however, refers to the volume of the cell phone. You have to stop an navigate to Audio settings. At the next volume down on an connected SENA 30K Myroute app get quieter an quieter. The same procedure, you got to stop and level up in the app.
I testet it on SENA 30 and Carpuride in my Car. It is both. At all devices the same issue.
You should offer three levels: quiet, medium and loud. Or a fixed level hook so it get not quieter. So that the navigation instructions can be heard clearly above the music.Best regards from Westerwald

Hi @Westerwald_Rider "So that the navigation instructions can be heard clearly above the music."
I suspect if you have NO music playing, the MRA audio volume will be plenty loud enough to hear clearly, this is easy to testIF the volume is loud enough with NO music then what I think the issue about MRA being quiet WITH music is because the user sets the volume level that they want the music to be comfortable at
What is not realised is that a lot of music player apps boost the volume so that they can be produce very high volumes,
quiet or even medium volume rock & roll is just NOT rock & rollIf you set the volume for comfortable music then MRA will sound quieter in comparison because it is not boosted
I learned this because I had the same issue, quiet MRA voice instructions
My fix has been to use a music app with equalizer or Replay gain settings so that I can control/reduce the music app volume output so it is un-boosted & matches the normal volume output of other apps such as MRA
With the music app & mra set to the same output levels then both increase equally using the phone volume controlsThats was the case for me, it was not MRA's fault but mine for using a loud music app that drowned out the MRA app, other cases may be different especially using carpuride/android auto

Hello Brian,
I heared music during mra. My samsung is intergated in the BT Stack of my car and android carplay. The media channel is my bt stack of my car. Internet radio, mp3 and Spottify. It runs. Only my native radio in my car, I don't use it. Only for traffic and news. These samsung Audio App, you can Set indivdual Volume levels. Spotify is Set for 75% mra 100%. Internet Radio 80%. So you are able to hear mra Navigation instructions clear, clean an loud. Tested during my holiday trip with capuride w903. It runs perfect for me. A stop? No Problem. Only one Thing, mra has to be started first and later the carpuride. So the stopped Navigation runs perfekt for further Tour. Mra navigate me perfekt trough Hamburg. Loud an clean with music. I hope it helps for you.Regards

@Westerwald_Rider, Yes, some Samsung phones have that feature, I believe not all do. But of course only Google can do something generic to Android to end the problems. Either make a feature like Samsung's, or introduce a speech channel.

@Con-Hennekens or choose a music app where you can reduce the music app output level via equaliser or replay gain settings!

Hi Con, I found an app called volume control for Android. But i don't have any experiance about it. No doubt it is ripp off. But it sounds good.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spycorp.appvolumecontrolI use for myself Samsung Sound Assistent from Samsung galaxy store. It is available for All Samsung smart phones.
Yes, indeed a separate channel would be helpful. At the Moment it works for me very well.
Brian use an interesting seperate solution.
Im fact if you are connected with carplay mra told you all Sound setting Controllers goes over the carplay with all delays we wrote.Perhaps developer read these thread and offer a solution?
Have a good ride all time
