I have mentioned before, that as good as I like the MRAapp, the Here maps are so bad. In West Europe it's still fine, but when you get a little further away, they are often wrong. This week in Tiblisy it was hopeless again. Over pedestrian areas, through dead-end streets, against one-way streets, over closed parking lots of hotels, up and down stairs and left turns over double solid lines. But we already knew this. A few days later, a first. Here mistook a railroad line for a road. I had to follow the railroad for several km. I just didn't.
Then the suggestion: I would be very happy to buy a platinum subscription if it would also give the ability to navigate with OSM maps. They are really much more accurate

i think this will be difficult. the developers use a software development kit (SDK) for apps from Here.

there are some other OSM based apps that you could use and still make your planning in web application.

I have never been to Tbilisi.
        Just an idea:
Create a plan online on the website with OSM. Or from the menu in MRA Navigation.
        Open MRA Navigation.
        First go to the settings.
        Try out offline Navigation
        Navigate routes as tracks ON.
        Use all waypoints ON.
Route violations and error checking OFF.

Synchronise/start this route with your smartphone.
        Start track navigation.

I can't predict how MRA Navigation will handle this, because of course the Here map and Here Server API will still be used for display during navigation.

And if that doesn't work either, you could try a competitor, e.g. Calimoto®, because as far as I know, their map material is based on OSM.

@C.A.-Kielen Another possibility would be to plan routes in MRA using OSM maps and navigate using OSMand+. I use MRA OSMand+ and a Garmin Zumo for various navigation scenarios. OSMand+ is a great app but its route/Track creation and its UI generally leaves something to be desired. However, if you have OSM maps on your phone and have used OSM maps on the route planner to create routes OSMand+ will quite happily follow them. An annual subscription is fairly cheap.

I have never seen an app as bad as OSMAND. I must be too stupid to understand it. I've watched a whole bunch of youtube videos, and still it's a mystery how I get that program to work. Too many options I guess. I used it in Iran, because Here has no maps of it. Every faint bend in the road was mentioned. Not really fun when driving on a winding mountain road. I'm sure it can be turned off, but I couldn't find it. Everything that makes the MRA app unique, OSMand does not have. Finally in Tblisi I created the route in MRA, and navigated from point to point with google maps. That worked. But that you are sent up or down stairs, or through non-existent streets, or that Here mistakes a railroad track for a road, yes it really shouldn't happen.

OsmAnd is actually a very good app but like a Swiss Army knife it has a fairly steep learning curve and takes some practice in becoming handy with it. For the areas where the Here Maps are lacking like parts of Eastern Europe or the M. East the OSM maps are great. The problem I find with MRA is once you are off ' road it becomes pretty useless.

Yes you can switch those warnings off and it does not navigate a route as such but rather a track linked to the roads (you can set the distance I have it set to 50m) But I agree the user interface is a mess with options to change the functionality of the software all over the place in no logical order 😄 and at least 3 different ways to achieve each task. It works really well for track navigation if you can get your head round it and I agree the OSM maps are more complete. In Ireland where I'm located I'd rank Google maps as most accurate followed by OSM with Here maps 3rd.

One last thought is that in my time on and off the road there is still NO ONE single app that does it all. Until that changes I have had become handy with a few different ones depending on the planning and the ride.

it sounds maybe strange but i use komoot with osm maps when i want to explore small path. it has offline maps and it can use gpx. i know i is in base a walk or bike app but in a lot off places it works good.
