Voice Navigation anncouncement too quiet
-
Dear MRA Team,
am using Myroute app 4.4.0-404. During the navigation the Voice get quiet, and quiet.
When using the volume down buttons, the voice announcement becomes quieter and quieter. You can no longer increase it while driving. Eventually you can no longer hear the announcement at all. If you want to vokume up it doesn't.
The volume always refers to the connected BT device. The Myroute, however, refers to the volume of the cell phone. You have to stop an navigate to Audio settings. At the next volume down on an connected SENA 30K Myroute app get quieter an quieter. The same procedure, you got to stop and level up in the app.
I testet it on SENA 30 and Carpuride in my Car. It is both. At all devices the same issue.
You should offer three levels: quiet, medium and loud. Or a fixed level hook so it get not quieter. So that the navigation instructions can be heard clearly above the music.Best regards from Westerwald

I can also add:
When music o audio is ON, Next can down this audio volume, but Next announcements are also low volume, so is more difficult to hear them.If Audio is OFF (music stoped before Next announcements) then audio level from Next is higher and perfectly audible.
This was checked at Android and IOS devices directly, I cant tes't it on Carplay/AndroidAuto.
Also, in same configuration, other apps like Tomotom AmiGo or Radarbot uses a higher volume output when music is on, so I can hear perfect above music, while I can't hear Next announcements.
Regards

That's a new one...
Why can't you increase the volume while driving, does it already show max volume?
I never saw (heard) this behavior. The volume always refers to the connected BT device. The Myroute, however, refers to the volume of the cell phone.
I assume you are talking about the volume slider in the MRA app settings? This slider shows the system volume, equal to pressing the volume buttons. The slider may not show the BT symbol, but when your phone is connected to a headset, it certainly influences the BT volume.

@Westerwald_Rider I can confirm this; I had these problems on my trip this weekend. At first, I thought it was due to the very warm temperatures, but I also had to increase the volume in my phone's audio settings because I couldn't hear any announcements at all. The announcement from the Blitzer.de app, however, was audible at a normal volume.

@Con-Hennekens Hello Con,
Even with the volume control in the MRA app set to maximum, I couldn't hear any navigation announcements.Only when I set the media volume to maximum in the Android phone's "Sound and Vibration Settings" could I hear the navigation announcements again.
In other apps, the volume can be adjusted independently of the Android system in the "App Settings."
I would welcome this option in the MRA app as well. -

It is one and the same sound channel. When I change that slider while a BT headset is connected. The smame slider does affect the BT volume, just like what happens with the volume up and down buttons. Even the volume change graphic from Android itself is displayed over the app...
And when you use the volume buttons to change the volume, the slider in the app changes accordingly, and in menu you show above the media channel is the one changed. So to me, really, the in-app slider has no function at all, since everyone uses volume buttons, much easier.

It happens to me too—when I'm listening to music, the volume is perfect, but if I stop the music, the volume drops significantly. Of course, I stop the music from the phone by pausing the track, without touching the volume controls. I’ve always thought this was related to the intercom, which is connected to both the motorcycle and the phone (iPhone). If the music is playing when a notification from the app comes in, the music volume lowers a lot and the navigation voice comes through clearly. Everything works perfectly—until I stop the music.

@Con-Hennekens What you're explaining is correct, but if I turn down my Sena volume using the Wonderwheel, for example, the voice prompt from the MRA app is also reduced. However, if I then want to increase the volume using the Wonderwheel, it no longer works.
To make the MRA volume louder again, I have to go into the system settings on my Android phone.
Before the update that did not happen.

@Peter-Zehentreiter, So the Whonderwheel has influence on your Sena volume? That's new to me... But does the Wonderwheel lower your Sena or your Android volume? Do you use a Carpe Iter BMW control or a Wunderlinq or something? I would disable it in the MRA app system setting (select disabled in the setting), to deduct if it's the MRA app lowering the volume, or some device changing the volume directly from within Android system or on your Sena.

@Con-Hennekens My Bluetooth connections are set up as follows:
My helmet with Sena is connected to the TFT of the GS 1250, and my phone is also connected to the TFT of the GS 1250.
The volume of the Sena (mesh) can be easily increased and decreased using the Wonderwheel (this has been working for about two years).
When I use the Sena volume up and down buttons on my helmet, the volume bar on the TFT also synchronizes.
I can also adjust the volume of the music played on my phone (played via Sena).
No Carpe Iter or Wunderlinq, just BMW standard.
I also have the SilverFox C1 (but in my opinion, it has nothing to do with it).
It would be ideal if you could adjust the volume independently in the MRA app. (See screenshot from the speed camera app)

@Con-Hennekens : Hi Con, the "Sena whonderweel" capture the BT Device Audio strengt. But the MyrouteAPP is running under phone settings. In fact, if you use automatic volume control in Sena 30k . Your sena lower down, after and after the voice of myrouteAPP get more and more quiet. In my Car with Carpuride I use the lower power Music button. the voice lower down. But when I get louder the BT Device stearing will not push up the audio of the MyrouteAPP.

@Westerwald_Rider AAh, interesting, I thought that was what happened when I lowered the volume with the Wonderwheel.
But I've also been having problems with it for the last four days and could only turn it back up via the system settings.
