New beta! 4.3.7 (384)
-
Hi all!
A new beta has arrived for iOS and is coming for Android.
Track navigation improvements
A lot could go wrong when navigating a track. Either from your own library or a generated scenic route / roundtrip. No real images to add for this but rest assured that the stability of track navigation has been improved a lot!
No more unexpected detours, no more recalculations straight to the finish and no more frustration. Initial results are very positive but more of my time will be dedicated in finetuning the track navigation.
CarPlay changes
Zoom buttons are available on screen!
While navigating, they are hidden under a submenu to preserve space for future buttons
When entering the zoom interface, the topdown mode is enabled and you can change the zoom level. After closing that menu, the last used camera modus before entering the zoom interface is used again
Android Auto
Same as for CarPlay!
Besides that however another nice feature is added! You can now pan the map
When you have a touchscreen, simply drag the screen.
If you do not have a touchscreen, a button will appear to enable the pan interface.
Note: dragging the map is not supported on CarPlay
Other changes
- Fullscreen mode is now a preference (Navigation settings > screen layout)
- Improved zoom limits in CarPlay / Android Auto (sometimes you were zoomed in way too much)
- Updated HERE and Flutter SDK
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Corjan@Corjan-Meijerink : Thank you

Still waiting for the update in the Android Playstore! Hope it will there be somewhere today! Improvements look great to me.
@white-mouse it should be available! Could you check in the Play Store?

@Peter-Greenacres then I do recommend testing this version! Active navigation while keeping to all rules and fully sticking to the track is hard.
The scenario you describe now is how it should be in the app.
@Corjan-Meijerink thank you for your reply. I tested the updated beta today. All good until I deliberately went off track. MRA asked to recalculate, when i confirmed MRA tried to take me back to the point where i left the track, even when i re joined the track further along. Is this deliberate or do i need to adjust something in settings?
Ideally, if I deviate from the track I want to get back on the track at the nearest point without stopping the motorcycle
Thank you -

Thank you@Peter-Greenacres If you have "skip waypoints" turned off, that makes sense. Otherwise it should start taking you to nearest point on the track after a bit. Normally that should be immediately but kinda depends on some factors.

@Corjan-Meijerink I navigated a track today over some 200 miles and the new version performed really well. When I deviated from the track, I was given a very quick route back to track and this kept updating. Worked really well for me with no problems

Thanks for the update and all the energy that has been put back into it. Also look forward to the complete rework of the home screen of the app. Is this update still expected in March?

@CD130 First Alpha version is definitely expected in March.
Beta maybe end of the month.Public release is very unknown as there is also a contractual / license part involved with our supplier.

@Corjan-Meijerink Oh, more difficult than expected? Good luck with this puzzle

@Corjan-Meijerink With this and the previous version with the new CarPlay zoom functions, I have regularly encountered a problem with the โZoomโ button allowing me to select a zoom level in Top Down view but then not returning to the previous dynamic view that I have selected on CarPlay. I find that I have to complete a whole cycle of view changes on my iPhone before this function works as stated. After this cycle of views on my iPhone, I do not have anymore issues with the zoom function for the reminder of the ride.
Some limited testing appears to show that I encounter this problem if I start the route on the iPhone and/or have the app open on the iPhone before connecting to CarPlay. If I open the route only through CarPlay, then the problem does not appear to happen. I need to do some more testing but I have just done a total reinstall of the new version just in case. More testing to be done.

@Corjan-Meijerink Done some more testing and the problem for me happens all the time if I have the app open with a navigation session initiated or the app has not been opened and not running in the background. If the app is active in the background with no navigation, then I do not have the problem with the Zoom initiation button not returning to the original selected view (from top down with manual zoom).

@Dave-J-0 Sorry, I've tested the behavior and I cannot understand what is going wrong. I do not seem to be able to reproduce the issue you are having.
Could you contact me through support including a video of the issue?
I am more than eager to fix it but I currently am not able to understand what exactly is going wrong. -
