What do the lines/arrows on the Nav screen mean?
-
@Rob-Kelley The arrows in the rectangular box at the top of the screen indicate the lane designation. Your image shows that the suggested lane is the left one.

Thanks but I'm turning right and the nav shows that I need to turn right, why an arrow showing left? -

Maybe because it is a roundabout? -

The arrows are a preview of the instruction at the next junction after the roundabout. -

No. As already mentioned, it is a lane instruction, not a turn instruction.
The best lane for the upcoming turn. -

I'm riding down from the top A413 to take the 2nd exit bottom left as you look at the map.
This is the roundabout in this example, you can see the 2 lanes on the approach, the left lane has road paint to turn left and the right has paint to turn right so when turning right at a roundabout we get into the right hand lane not the left, MRA does this all the time with roundabouts.
So if it is a lane assist then it's very wrong and should be fixed or disabled. -

The arrows are a preview of the instruction at the next junction after the roundabout. Thanks but the next junction is another roundabout with a straight on, the left lane is for traffic turning left.

Martin is right, it is a lane assist for the upcoming roundabout.
See the manual:

It seems that in this case the lane assist is not very helpful. -

Absolutely agree!
I donโt know if this is a MRA or a HERE issue but itโs wrong and should be fixed! -

In early 2024 there were multiple posting about wrong direction assignments in the UK. I also saw this when i was in Scotland.
This happened only in the UK not in rest of Europe.I thought it was solved. Clearly not or it is back.

wrote on 21 Dec 2024, 16:52 last edited by@M-Schrijver I have had similar problems on my BMW sat nav. The thing they have in common is the Here maps. I've also had Here maps try to take me via Belgium to go 10 miles down a road in Spain and onto a Toll road because the Here map didn't know.

This is definitely another issue than you refer to @M-Schrijver
To be totally honest. In some regions I find the lane recommendation by HERE to be totally sh*t
We just serve the received information and that can be quite incorrect. The only way to fix it is by reporting it: https://mapfeedback.here.com/#/report

I haven't used lane assist very often so far.
For some tests, I gave it a go yesterday on a 50 km trip with a mix of highway, overland and cities around Hamburg / Germany. About 30 % of all lane assists were not exact or downright misleading.
I turned lane assist off again...
