Waypoints options
-
On my flying route planners there is the option to insert a waypoint between when editing a previous saved route.
This does not seem possible in MyRoute as when I try to edit by say a new loop round a town it always puts any new waypoint at end of list and reroutes all the way via the finish back to new waypoint..
Can an option to ‘Insert between’ be added even if only in paid versions.

@AlanM That is already possible, both in the web planner and the app planner. In the web planner, hover your mouse over the route. When the cursor changes to the MRA logo (the drop with the plus sign), click, and a waypoint will be inserted into your route with the correct waypoint number. In the app planner, simply long-press on the route line where you want to insert a point, and voilà.

@Rob-Verhoeff long press to immediately enable drag, short press also works
-
@Peter-Schiefer so you don’t use the app on a mobile device and do not have a mouse.
You are right, that is indeed not optimised -
@Peter-Schiefer
There is no " hover " action on an iPad when using your finger (or a pencil) instead of a mouse. However, inserting waypoints works well in the web planner if you tap precisely on the existing line. -
I use an Android tablet. I double tap on the route line to add a waypoint. Sometimes the double tap will, zoom in but the next double tap normally adds the waypoint.

@AlanM I think that my query was not quite clear. I wish to put a new way point say 5k off existing route to modify the route but leave the rest as is. Not just insert way point in route without altering it.
Say you hear that part of your proposed ride has a week long road closure so you need to modify but keep the main part of your plan -
@AlanM
Your question was clear Just insert a new waypoint as expressed and then drag it to the appropriate location. That way, you can alter the route to fit your needs. -
Hi folks,
I have dug my old 2011 Wndows Laptop out of thw attic and find that a it still works and b that using the mouse the fuction I need is available by drag and drop. But cannot dupilcate on iPad -
@AlanM
A long press (about 2 seconds) on a waypoint is needed to enable the drag mode. -
@Martin-Wilcke Thanks to you all, have now got it working on iPad and old PC. Easier on PC though.
-
@AlanM on an iPad you need some practice

Like everything...
My tablet is used not much more than a fancy e-reader.
