@Maikel-Kool That's not the question! A track only has two waypoints (start- and finish). So this would be a future feature if possible (I doubt that).

At this moment I solved it by skipping al the points from start to the one that I actually start from, but this can only be done on the phone and not on carplay or adroid auto.

Simply longpress the waypoint from were you want to restart your route and all of the waypoints before that point will be skipped!

@Rob-Verhoeff by like you already stated a track had just 2 waypoints, the start and the finish. What waypoint would you like him to press is there's none. Maybe thats why I always use a route with enough waypoints in it. I dont understand why one should want to navigate with a track since there are much better solutions

@Marinus-van-Deudekom It's the other person! @Maikel-Kool is navigating a route. Then it's possible to longpress a waypoint!

I'm still quite new to the app, so I'm not completely familiar with the differences between a route and a track. I can indeed imagine that if you drive a route/track that only has a start and an end point, my option does not work.

Good to know that long pressing a waypoint is also an option. I'm going to try that. Thank you

You're still confused! A track has only two points: the start and the end. A route in MRA has multiple waypoints.

No not confused, I just did not know the difference between a route and a track.

I did understand however you ment you can do this when there are multiple waypoints on a route instead of the way I did (skipping al the points already behind me)

So the question of the starter of this topic is stil valid. But maybe not something a lot of people would ask for unless you stop for a while on a track and the app restarts for what ever reason. Will it pickup the track you where on, or will you need to calculate a new one with and hope it will bring you back to the original starting point

I never navigate a track. I do read a lot about returning to your starting point. That's obviously not what you want! If you've started a track using the in-app functionality, you can always start a new track from the point where the original one stopped, and continue to the destination you want.

Still have a lot to figure out but my first impression is that ia a very nice solution for a lot of great cabrio rides.

I'd like to propose a new feature/setting for the navigation app: beeing able to start midway trough a track.

I've just purchased the MRA Next navigation subscription to try it out. Until now I've been using a Zumo 660 for navigation. With this Zumo, when navigating a track, it is possible not to navigate to the beginning of the track but to start off whenever you are riding on that track. This is handy when you start riding somewhere from somewhere else than the starting location (like when I'm riding a route for an event a few days in advance to check if there are no roadblocks or something and starting off a bit closer to my home). When driving onto the track, I think the navigation should start and navigate to the end of the track (as if that is your new starting point).

I get that, if this becomes a feature, I should restart the track navigation when reaching the end to navigate to/from the start of the track.

I'd like to know if there are more people who think this would be a good addition to the app!

Yes, Navigation sending you forward on the track wherever you hit it sounds like a nobrainer to me. The Zumo's do that, probably most other track based navigations too.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Great to see that there are a few opinions and tips related to this topic!

As a software engineer, I would almost offer to code it myself 😛

I've read this a few times already and have just tried it, works great. A tip: long press it just before starting the navigation (on the page when you can exclude highways, tollroads, ect.). I first tried it on the detail page of a route, the app then starts navigating to that point.

As far as my knowlege goes (correct me if I'm wrong), the difference is that a route is build-up of route points. Your navigation will make a route between these points itself. So the navigation could create a route that's different than when viewing it on your PC (mostly happens when not enough route points are used). On the other hand, a track is a set of points which create a (fixed) line(road) which the navigation will interpert. This line locks down how the navigation will navigate from the start to the end of the route. This is because the line will define what roads the route(litteral route, not GPX route) will take.

@Wouter-Gosseling, an easier interpretation of a track would be: a breadcrumb trail of which your navigation device does not calculate the route between the breadcrumbs itself.
