Hey. I did a route from Thame to Norther Luffenham today with a waypoint at Super Sausage. So 3 waypoints in total. I did avoid highways. The route kept trying to take down random diversions such as side roads on the way then routing back to main road. What am I doing wrong?

Since you only provided one waypoint (waypoint 2), MRA will choose the best route between 1 and 2 and between 2 and 3 while you're driving. You need to use as many points as necessary to make sure you follow the route you want to take. Having just one point on that route is simply not enough. I place at least one waypoint on every road I want to drive on. I think having between 10 and 20 waypoints for this route would be perfectly acceptable.

the description does not sound like MRA is finding quicker routes.
I have had a similar problem, as described, on Tom Tom, but not MRA. -

wrote on 19 Aug 2024, 17:14 last edited by@Simon-Bradford I think it's due to a lack of waypoints, causing the navigation engine to become confused as well.

Just use Copy/Paste on any Windows machine, or the small Picture Icon:
I checked your route and it is in HERE, but is it possible that it was OSM originally? Routes made in OSM and navigated in HERE (the MRA Navigation app) tend to show the behaviour you describe.

@Con-Hennekens thanks!
wrote on 21 Aug 2024, 07:51 last edited by@Simon-Bradford, it almost looks like there is a sneaky waypoint in the route behind the blue instruction panel... I have no clue why this happens, but a lack of waypoints is not it for sure!
