Taking sections of routes nearby and adding them to your route
-
Hi everyone,
We are touring France and some of Spain in the summer and I have started planning the routes. I have been looking at some of the recommended routes nearby and have found some with good ratings that I would like to incorporate into my routes. The problem I am having is I only want to incorporate sections of the routes nearby as they carry on past my end point. Is there an easy way of taking a section of of another route and adding it to my route?
Thanks -

Short answer literally answering your strict question: no.
But a workaround I can think of is downloading the route you want to re-use parts of, to you account as a whole, then edit that route and strip (i.e. delete) the route from all waypoints outside that section you want to reuse.
Afterwards 'add the edited route' to your route you want the section to be used in, and click the +. This adds the 'added route' to your own route using the waypoints from the 'added route'...
This last part is decently written down in the support section. Search for: "Multiple routes show and merge" or something similar in English :).
The dutch shows it like this:

@Stefan-Hummelink Thank you for taking the time to reply, I will give it a go.

@scott-vallance-0 another way is to follow the previous instructions but rather than strip the additional route and use the "+" button to actually add it to your route, simply have the the whole additional route overlaid on your existing route and manually add routepoints to your existing route to cover the additions you wish to make using the overlay as a guide.

@Will-Brooks This is surely the most easy, but also the most labour intensive method, but it definitely works!
