Notice these two itineraries, always using the same algorithm Here, in one case the route planner calculates an additional useless stretch of road, why?

@Corrado-Miniati-0 curious what vehicle you are using.

A possibility is that the left turn (where that weird loop starts) is prohibited for the selected vehicle. If not using a custom vehicle but just a car / bike this can still be a prohibited turn too but also a mapping error.

These can be reported here: https://mapfeedback.here.com/#/report

@Corrado-Miniati-0 The HERE WeGo website shows the same route as your MRA route so the problem is with the HERE map. I agree with @Corjan-Meijerink that you should report the problem to HERE Map Feedback. I have just reported the problem, the more people that report the problem, the more chance we have of seeing it fixed.

Hi Corjan and thanks a lot for the feedback.
The vehicle of the 2 itineraries is always the same (motorcycle) and the left turn is allowed as visible on Street View and as indicated on the TomTom map, what I don't understand because in the same itinerary Reverse Here calculates the turn correctly.

The reason it works in reverse is because the HERE map thinks that you cannot turn left when travelling from the east. But it is ok to turn right.

@Corrado-Miniati-0, Streetmap is very handy, but usually far more outdated than map material (even HERE's 😉 )

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

@Con-Hennekens You can check the date of the StreetView by clicking View on Google Maps.

@Nick-Carthew, Yes I know, but it shows you cannot take the situation for granted. This is half a year, often it is much older. I've been trying this for the place where I work, with some hilarious results:

This is the picture I get from the MRA planner:
                    0fab4d0f-55b4-456c-ab3d-633200c1ef84-image.png

Looks like me and some colleagues are OoO at the moment 😉 Based on trees and wheather and one of the cars this must be somewhere late previous winter.

Now I am getting this from GMaps:
                    5ffa71d4-5a2b-4f1a-ae91-3e4ff36cf2d6-image.png

This time I am at the office 😉 and the timestamp says August 2020...

I don't know where MRA gets the imagery from, but it seems far more recent than Google their own map.

                    EDIT:
A second attempt on GMaps actually shows a picture that looks A LOT like the one I got through MRA but is NOT the same!

                    05c35de2-e4a4-4106-8db6-18ff032fd27c-image.png

This one is a nice "search the differences" game, and is dated April 2023.
So now we have in 2 minutes 3 different Streetview pictures of the same building...

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!
