New Beta! (v4.0.5)
-
@Jörgen, you are welcome. Educational for many I think
-
@Jörgen There could be a problem if you choose to navigate to a POI. Your example above @Con-Hennekens highlights my point exactly. Many POIs are not positioned on the road so this could cause problems. Better to add a new route point that is correctly positioned.

@Nick-Carthew, entirely true! Corjan foresaw that too, and made pressing somewhere on the chart (the place where you are likely to park) as easy as pressing the POI itself

@Nick-Carthew I combine the best of both worlds: When we assume a lunch stop, I place a POI just as @Con-Hennekens does. Then, I add a viapoint (with the appropriate pause-icon) just before it and name that point after the stop. I might include some brief explanations in the notes. Additionally, within 2000 meters of that waypoint, I add a shapingpoint to ensure I receive voice instructions.

@Rob-Verhoeff, that's great for certain stops. Often where you lunch (example) will be dependent on how your tour is getting on (some are quicker than others or you needed to fix a puncture or some other unplanned stops). Then it is nice to have multiple POI for lunch along the route, but you do not want to visit all of them. The new feature shows them on the map, but does not route to them before you explicitly choose one.

Not yet between my ears... And as far as flat tires are concerned... I've never experienced it in the 40 years that I've been driving

Those bacon strips will probably be too dry by now.

Ladies and gentlemen! We are back
A month after our last Beta update, it's time for a new one.
Yes, it has been a slightly longer wait than we anticipated but it's gonna be a nice one! Delay was caused due to some development issues / obstacles, illness and vacation. The 4.0.5 beta will become available later this week - before the weekend.
This update does however contain so much new features and improvements that by time you are halfway reading this post, you've already forgotten the time you had to wait
CarPlay & Android Auto improvements
As promised, we would keep working on the CP / AA module.
We've done that!We now show:
- Speedlimit
- Current speed
- Lane assistance
- Camera / Truck warnings
From CP / AA you can now also:
- Change route avoid options
- Search for stops along your route
- Skip waypoints
Amazing right?
With this update we believe that CarPlay & Android Auto finally get the level it deserves.
Nearby fuel stops
The app will actively suggest an efficient nearby fuel stop on your route - from MRA with
This is displayed instead of the next instruction and we've increased the size of this element
Tapping the icon will add the fuel stop to your route, keeping your original route as intended. If you want to turn this off, you can do so from the functional settings.
Note: skipping extra stops, will not skip them but totally remove them from your route. Keeping your original waypoint count as planned.
Search for stop while navigating
Besides the nearby fuel suggestions, you can also search yourself!
Exactly the same search functionality as you are used to is available while navigating. Simply open the menu and search for a stopAs with nearby fuel stops, the search results are added efficiently along your route.
Note: skipping extra stops, will not skip them but totally remove them from your route. Keeping your original waypoint count as planned.
Custom tilt level
Do you prefer more horizon? Of less?
A discussion of the past! You can now choose your own tilt level from the map configuration settings.
Fixed issues
- Motorhome not allowed to use highway when avoiding toll
- Better position accuracy on (older, mostly Android) devices
- Logic to when detailed lane assist should kick in
- CarPlay showing multiple position indicators after switching between apps
- CarPlay iconsize next maneuver very small
- GPX files not opening with the app
- Incorrect distances shown to the next maneuver
- General stability improvements
Minor features
- CP / AA: Now includes translations, respecting your language preference
- New icons for speed warnings
- Increased size of next maneuver widget
- Preparation for Carpe Iter support (only available to their development team)
- Navigations can be resumed using BT controllers / input devices
- Previous camera tracking mode is respected when refocussing the camera (in short: compass tap behavior
)
- Newest HERE SDK (4.15.5)
Known issues in this Beta
- Offline maps update might not be available (contacted HERE)
- Battery usage (ongoing issue with HERE)
- Roundabouts sometimes show incorrect exit direction
- Other common minor issues shared in the past weeks / month
We are looking forward to all your feedback!
Thanks so much for your continuing participation in the Beta program.
Cheers,
Corjan@Corjan-Meijerink

@Rob-Verhoeff i got two on my KTM. One less than a day after i bought it, one in the rain somewhere in France in the mountains.
And the repair set could not repair it
I spent all the cartridges and luckily reached a garage 5 minutes before it closed.
