App. giving wrong directions
-
I tested MyRoute App for the first time today having just bought a sub.
I chose a route I know and planned it in the on line app.
All through the ride it was giving me totally the wrong directions trying to take me off route and telling me to make Uturns etc. It looks as though the app changed the route during the ride to a lot of gobbledegook!
Can anyone suggest why this has happened? -
@Jurassic-Mike it sounds like you may have missed a waypoint and it was trying to get you back to the missed waypoint. Normally the app would just skip the waypoint and carry on. You could skip a waypoint or two to see if that fixes the problem or use the menu to display the route, see where you are and long press the next waypoint on the map/route to get back in sync.

@Jurassic-Mike did you made a route yourself with self chooses waypoints or did you follow a A to B route with the Destination-button in the app-menu?
If you made a route yourself, can you post the route in this topic? Make sure you make the route “public” before posting it. -
@Doug-Robinson Thank you for this advice Doug, I'll have a look into it.
-
@Rob-Verhoeff I used the A - B then slightly moved the B(end) marker.
-
@Doug-Robinson Having looked at it again, I only had 2 way points, the start and the finish. I followed the route I have saved exactly. At one point it even tried to take me through a drive through Layby. Weird.
I'll try the route again to see what happens next time. -
Could the problem be that I made the map with MRA Route Planner but used it on an Android phone? If so how do I overcome the problem?
-
@Jurassic-Mike, I suspect you entered the route with WP1 behind you, already going in the direction of WP2. Therefore you did not "hit" WP1. In the future, place the start of your route (any route) at least 25 meters away from your home/hotel/parkingplace in the direction your are going to ride.

@Jurassic-Mike An A-B route is not a route in fact but a track with only two waypoints: start and finish. You wil be guided along the track until the end. Sometimes there will be a deviation and then you will be guided to the end directly, regardless the "route" that was planed.

@Rob-Verhoeff Thanks Rob. I've a lot to learn.

@Con-Hennekens Oh! OK I'll remember that. Thanks.
