Pause symbols
-
This is probably not so much a Next issue, as a comment about any route created within Route Lab.
I like the pause symbols, the burger for lunch, tea cup for a tea or coffee stop in a cafe, a camera for a good spot to pause to take a picture. I also like the way MyRoute allows you to add pictures and basic descriptions to points along the route.
I do though also like the Garmin based symbols that mark places that are not pauses, but are points where, (in very crude terms) something is or something happens.
For example, a symbol of a tent, to mark a campsite, as opposed to a hotel. A bed symbol to mark a hotel. Crossed swords to mark a battlefield or military memorial. A simple picnic table, to mark a good spot to stop for a picnic, as opposed to a cafe or a restaurant. A boat to mark a ferry crossing, a train to mark a station, a P to mark a good place to park etc etc etc
At the moment, if I create a route ending at say a hotel, the only symbol available to me is the ‘hand’. If the last point is a campsite, again the only symbol available is the ‘hand’. It might be nice if these could be augmented with a symbol, too. In short, anything to help make the route look more interesting and informative.
I appreciate that the use of symbols is very personal and that Garmin might have too many of them. But some more within MyRoute might be useful, perhaps?

@Richard-18 I moved this topic to General discussion for obvious reasons
Coloured route points can also be used to indicate specific things, the RouteXpert routes all use the same colours in their colour scheme. -
Thank you, Nick.
I meant to put it there, started typing and then forgot.
I have picked up the Route Expert colour tip in the briefing paper.
