MRA Navigation (Android): Edits on Route Editor not synced to MRA Route Lab (web)?
-
So... Making edits on MRA Navigation Route Editor don't sync back to MRA Route Lab (web) routes? To be clear... Path - Navigation/Navigation and tracking/Routes/Select Route/Click "To route editor". Edits made in this route editor don't appear to be synced back your parent route saved in the MRA Route lab routes on the website.

@Tim-Thompson
The answer is to make the changes in the RoutePlanner not in MRA Navigation.
This should keep them both in sync. -

This should keep them both in sync.Yes. Surmized that. Seems like a flaw. Makes one wonder why the feature is even available in MRA Navigation. I guess it could be useful if you have to make a minor adjustment on the fly while out and about.
Seems already tedious enough to have to correct routes (moving/adding shaping points etc.) between the desired route in Routeplanner and what you get in MRA Navigation. Seems like this requires you to have to keep going back and forth making the changes in Routeplanner, and then closing and reopenning the route in MRA Navigation to see the effect. Would be nice to be able to simply make the correction in MRA Navigation and have it sync.

So I stand corrected on this one... Playing around with it further... Seems that the syncing does occur, it just may take some time before the changes appear.

Then again maybe not. I got a couple of routes now that seem like they just won't sync up.
Playing around with it, here is what I'm finding...
Changing my stops from shaping points to vias, changing their colors, and changing the pause symbols on the website Route Lab Routeplanner seems to work fine. You can make the changes, close the website, come back later, open things up and find that the changes are still there. Then you can go and open the route in MRA Navigation and BAM... Vias are now back to being shaping points etc. Close MRA Navigation and go back to Route Lab on the web, and what do you know, the vias previously setup up in Routeplanner are back to be shaping points etc. What's up with this?
I've also noted that shaping points added in MRA Navigation Route Editor don't appear to sync back to the mother ship - I never see the updates on the route in Route Lab web.
Another note, there doesn't seem to be an option in MRA Navigation to change shaping points to via and vice versa. Thought I might try changing the shaping points to vias there and see if the changes made it up the the mother ship. But alas, MRA doesn't seem to have this option.
Another experiment... So, I updated shaping point to vias, the colors, and the pause symbols once again in Route Lab on the web. I then went into settings on my phone and and cleared the cache, storage and did a Force stop on the navigation app. I went back into the Navigation app, logged back in, and opened the route. This time the changes were there. All vias, colors where as they were supposed to be (except for the destination refusing to show as a via - instead it always shows a a shaping point - an issue I've already reported elsewhere).

@Tim-Thompson The developers are working on a brand new navigation app (MRA Navigation Next). This is being designed from the ground up and will be integrated into the MRA Mobile app. It’s great that you are highlighting the issues with the current version of MRA Navigation but I doubt very much that any precious time or resources will be spent on developing this version. From what I understand, the new MRA Navigation Next will be far superior to what we have now. Having said that, I have navigated for thousands of miles across Europe using the current version, albeit a bit clunky in places.

Yup. I'm aware and understand that. Here's hoping that current problems don't continue to persist in the new app.

I’m sure they won’t
