@Neil-q, Of course you can do what @Lex.Kloet.RX explained. But beware to check the route and route points. Move route points ON the road, and away from crossings and roundabouts. It can be helpful the add the generated track to the planning windows, so you can easily see any detours from the original track. For this, click on the three-lines-menu in the left column and choose "routes", click add, and browse to the original track that was generated. On the other hand, you can of course also navigate the track instead, and skip the hard work The distance and duration of a track will play no part in the navigation of that track, it is just some metadata in the file. I indeed notice that it gives 0 km and 0 hours...

@Brian-Martin, When you start a route, you will see a switch to enable/disable "start from closest route point". Is that the one you are looking for? If not, maybe a screenshot explains your question.

@Ron-Z No, I suppose the Connector will not perform that trick. Just download the GPX and transfer it to the connected Garmin XT by using OpenMTP. There is alternative software too, but this one is free. Normally I always use Garmin Drive on my iPhone to transfer the GPX wirelessly from the MRA-app to the XT.

@luca-18 My best guess is that the map provider (OpenStreetMap) has changed the map data in such a way that footpaths where you could previously place a route point are now defined differently on the map, which makes it no longer possible. I noticed the same phenomenon on a specific hike I did in Switzerland. Als ik OSM selecteer als rekenkaart en gelijk OFFROAD selecteer dan werkt het (voor alle segmenten). Maar als ik OFFROAD NIET selecteer en een route maak, en dan een aantal segmenten op offroad zet, dan werkt het niet. Alles blijft over wegen gaan. Profiel staat op AUTO, maar alle andere profielen werken ook niet, zelfs te voet door grasland niet Als ik achteraf segmenten op OFFROAD zet lukt het niet.

@Steven-Peyton I do it as follows. Android! Open the route on your smartphone, generate GPX 1.1, then open it with the Connected app. The Connected app offers three options: Track, bases, waypoints. Then just sync it with your motorcycle. iOS ... Here you should not use GPX 1.1 but ‘HD Boom Box Route’. Another note about the map material. The BMW app uses Tom Tom. You should also use Tom Tom in MRA. One more note about iOS: The name of the route must not contain any umlauts, such as äüö, for example. Otherwise, problems may also arise.

@Brian-McG I now understand what you did. I missed where you actually changed the calculation map from HERE to OSM. I had in my head that you were simply changing to the OSM overlay on a HERE calculation map. So yes, that method works. Thanks.

What profile do you use? When you use the motorcycle profile, change it to car. You can also add shapingpoints at the start and end of the ferry.
