@CD130 ben bezig met een 8 daagse tour week in de Eifel. Natuurlijk loop je dat tegen onbekende wegopbrekingen aan. Ven probleem. Zelfs in ff nadenken en de richting uit rijden van je oplossing. Herberekenen AAN laten staan en tot 3 keer toe wist MRA met een klein zetje van Marinus de juiste oplossing te bedenken. Het apparaat kan slim rekenen met heeft sinds een beetje duiding van een mens nodig. Have fun

Sinds een iOS 18 update kunnen gpx bestanden inderdaad niet meer geopend worden (hoewel de app nog steeds als keuze beschikbaar zou moeten zijn). We onderzoeken dit.

@Brian-McG, good find! To add to this, I don't think there is a maximum distance a tracklog can handle. There might be a limit of breadcrumbs though after which the resolution of a tracklog will decrease. Also I think I remember an occurence of an import of a very long tracklog into MRA, that also showed the resolution to be reduced. This can lead to the tracklog not following the road exactly.

@MarcM, routeparameters aanpassen bij een geplande route levert een route zoals je hem niet hebt gepland. Dat is dus vrij zinloos. Beter is, zoals @Lex.Kloet.RX al aangeeft om je route te plannen als "snelste" en door middel van routepunten de Gothard pass te pakken in plaats van de tunnel. Dat geeft je de mogelijkheid om een aantal WP over te slaan met behoud van je route. Ju kunt natuurlijk ook altijd je route stoppen, naar een plak achter de tunnel navigeren (gewoon even aandrukken op je startscherm) en daarna weer de route herstarten.

You could of course take a look at your screen too, before driving off And if you haven't done it yet, i suggest you try out Beeline one day. It doesn't support the concept of navigating to nearest point but is has an interesting way of skipping to next and previous. I have found myself in positions where I though some kind of back-button to skip back to the previous waypoint would come in very handy indeed. I find myself being too late pressing the revert button if a WP gets auto-skipped. That is because exactly at those moments I tend to be busy taking a wrong turn . So yes, I would welcome such a feature! please spare me from your analysis on me. It serves no purpose. Let's try to be respectful to volunteers who just try to be helpful.

Hi @Paul-Johnson-5 All the above posts give good advice, it is just the nature of having multiple different devices that there are going to be inconsistencies in the routes due to the different routing algorithms/profiles that are used to calculate the routes. All you can do is try to constrain the routes to be as similar as possible by adding lots of points One trick I use to help identify if there is going to be an issue is in the name of the route I add  the total mileage that I believe the route should be, the mileage MRA has calculated with the Here routing. When friends load the route to their Garmin or TomTom if there is a big difference in mileage calculated then it implies it is a poorly constrained route & the navigation systems have a serious divergence somewhere in the route It is not a perfect solution & it won't catch the small deviations but it can serve as a warning something is amiss

Niet te geloven, maar hij doet het weer! Niks gedaan behalve (onbedoeld) gewacht. Ineens start de download! Weliswaar niet van de eerder door mij aangevinkt offline kaarten, maar er begon in elk geval iets. Die heb ik gestopt en de gewenste kaarten aangevinkt en toen die gedownload waren, bleek de routebegeleiding het ook weer te doen. #schietmijmaarlek ... En ik zal wel moeten wennen dat de app iedere route een paar keer spontaan stopt. Of dat het scherm knippert. Ik kijk het een paar maanden aan en dan misschien toch maar terug naar een Garmin.

Ik gebruik MRA al een tijdje en vind het tot nu toe een van de beste routeplanners. Ik maak mijn routes met Routeplanner (HERE) en stuur ze daarna naar mijn Garmin XT GPS in het GPX 1.2-formaat. Gebruik voor routes versturen naar jouw Garmin GPX formaat 1.1. GPX formaat 1.2 is geen officiële formaat. Deze is ooit een keer door MRA opgezet om bepaalde gebreken/missende zaken in een gpx bestand te kunnen krijgen. Op andere fora's lees je vaak dat het 1.2 formaat teveel ellende oplevert (oa afwijkende routes na inladen). Dus altijd het gpx-formaat 1.1 gebruiken is mijn advies. Mijn eerste vraag is: Er is een verschil in routes tussen OpenStreetMap en HERE, en ook tussen TomTom en HERE. Wie een beter zicht wil op kleine wegen, gebruikt best OpenStreetMap. Maar sommige van die wegen zijn niet opgenomen in HERE. Dus als iemand mij een route opstuurt die met OSM is gemaakt, ziet die route er in HERE anders uit. Niet handig... Dat kan best kloppen. Soms zijn het grote verschillen, soms zijn het kleine verschillen. Mijn advies, als je een route wilt ontvangen van iemand, laat die het dan als een track opsturen en niet als een route. In MRA routeplanner (webbased) kan je die dan omzetten naar een route en als je dan de track eronder gooit als referentie, dan zie je direct waar het fout gaat en kan je de router corrigeren. Maar sowieso is het verstandig om ontvangen routers altijd na te lopen of het wel klopt en of er geen gekke/rare dingen inzitten. Daarnaast: De HERE kaart gebruiken de Garmin gebruikers, de TomTom kaart door de TomTom gebrukikers en OpenStreetMap (OSM) door iedereen. Ik gebruik zelf standaard de HERE kaart vanwege mijn Garmin Zumo XT en MRA Next app. Moet de route als tracklog gelezen worden of als gewone route? Hoe kan ik een route maken die er bij iedereen hetzelfde uitziet? Maak een route aan in de MRA routeplanner en stuur het naar iedereen op als een track. Let wel, dit is nog geen garantie dat het bij de anderen nog steeds goed gaat. Als de anderen naar wie je de track stuurt de route ook als track blijft gebruiken, dan zal er weinig fout gaan. Maar zodra er iemand de track omzet naar route is de kans al groot aanwezig dat het weer fout gaat. Mijn tweede vraag: Ik maak vaak een route waarbij vertrek en aankomst op dezelfde plaats zijn. Als ik mijn Garmin GPS volg, heb ik de keuze tussen: naar het vertrekpunt, het dichtstbijzijnde punt of het einde. Natuurlijk loopt het dan soms mis. Als punt 2 iets verder ligt dan het voorlaatste punt van de rit, stuurt de GPS me naar dat voorlaatste punt. Naar het einde kan vaak pas als ik al een stuk gereden heb; anders word ik teruggestuurd naar het laatste punt van de rit. Ik ben dus een beetje verloren… Help ! Wat al gezegd is, leg jouw start- en beginpunt verder weg van waar je daadwerkelijk start of eindigt. Ik maakte dezelfde fout in het begin. Startpunt recht voor mijn voordeur met als gevolg dat mijn navigatie mij perse terug stuurde naar het beginpunt. Idem voor het eindpunt, met alle geweld moest ik erlangs ongeacht waar ik vandaan kwam. Nu leg ik mijn startpunt enkele 100-den meters verderop of in de volgende straat (hoekje om naar links of rechts), mijn navigatie stuurt me daar al heen en pakt vandaar de route op zoals het hoort. Nergens meer last van! Eindpunt plaats ik ook op die manier. Straatje ervoor of enkele 100-den meters voor het feitelijke eindpunt. Nergens meer last!

Pixel Phone offers the most clean interface. Because of this you might think it is the best solution for AA. In my case a Pixel 6 serie (6 Pro and 6a) perform beter compared to the Galaxy S21. The best solution for AA and ACP is a simple USB cable. But sadly most of the aftermarket AA/ACP devices offer only a wireless connection. My opnion. It is not just the phone or just the AA/ACP device. It is the combination of phone, AA/ACP device, software on the phone, saved bluetooth and wifi connections and your surrounds were you ride. There are to many variables to point at. I've read more than once a Iphone is more stable for Carplay compared to Android. Because of this bought a Iphone and tested it on my bike. Wired and Wireless. Wired no a problem at all. Wireless the same amount of problems as AA. So I send the phone and got my money back.

My only comment would be that you might want to try the app with an otherwise redundant phone. I use it with an old Motorola G7 on Android 10. I did a Factory reset on that phone and only run Navigation apps on it. Google maps for point to point. OSMand+ for offroad navigation and Myroute app for motorcycle road navigation and it works fine. My Honda and my car both have dedicated GPS receivers built into the Android Auto head unit I believe that this is not the case for the Carpuride which means the phone has to do additional work locating the device in relation to the app. But at least if you give another phone a try you might be able to narrow down the issue to the app, phone, connection to the Carpuride or GPS signal. I don't know?? but those would be the type of issues I'd be trying to eliminate.
