Lock up
-
I will be heading to northern Italy for 2 weeks of riding next week. I have new-to-me rugged phone - a Kyocera E7110 - that I bought on the used market. I made a test run with it today on an errand to a location that is about a 45 minute ride.
On the way from home to my destination I had no issues; everything worked great. On the way back from my destination to a different location near home, everything was great for about a half hour, when the screen locked up. I appeared to still have audio directions. After about 10 minutes (just about when I was ready to pull over and start poking at the phone) the screen came back. It was fine for about five minutes, then as I neared the destination, the display locked up again. I downloaded the route to the phone and was running online.
A lockup like this could be really bad if it happens on roads in Northern Italy that I don't know at all. Anyone had an experience like that and can offer any suggestions?
Version 4.3.8 - 386. Android 12.
Thanks,
Vinnie

@Vincent-Curren Sounds like a phone issue. Check your settings, make sure that it doesn't restrict the app for screen usage or you may have some power preserving mode activated.

@Adrian-Avram Thanks Adrian, good suggestions that hadn't occurred to me, especially relevant since it's a new-to-me device. There could well be something in the depths of Android...
