Took a bike out for a test ride today. Used MRA on my fully chargesd iphone 15 max. 2.5hours later my phone was down to 2% the only app I was using on the phone was MRA.

Anyone else seen this issue and any way to make MRA last all day.

      Version 4.3.8

@Michael-Rhys that's why the advise is to use an external power supply

        Honda Goldwing GL1500,
        Honda Silverwing GL 650
DMD2 T865X 8 inch Android tablet using MRA next for navigation
Garmin XT (almost in the cupboard)
Samsung S20FE mounted on a Quadlock and using Android Auto in my car

@Marinus-van-Deudekom Its not always possible, like in the situation today, or if you are keeping your phone in your pocket and using a car play device. Google maps does not destroy the battery as much.

@Michael-Rhys of you have your phone in your pocket because you're using CarPlay make shure that your phones screen is off and maybe connect it to a powerbank

I am currently experiencing very variable battery consumption. Last week I did a ride of almost 200 km. While doing so, I used the BMW connect app, MRA and internet radio, charging the phone wirelessly through the bike (R1250RT).
Started with the battery at about 83%. At the break after 1 1/2 hours, the battery was found to be at 84%. So there was about 1% more charging. At lunch after about 3 hours, the battery was still 83% full. So the consumption was compensated with charging. However, on returning home after 4 1/2 hours, the battery showed 67%. So despite wireless charging, it had lost 16% more after the midday break.
No idea why the phone was consuming more after midday, then.
I'm going to see if I can measure the temperature in the (ventilated) compartment where the phone is located and charged. Maybe the rise in temperature could be a cause.

It probably wasn't 😉 Charging wirelessly is sometimes hit and miss...

Yesterday I tried something new. My BMW R1250RT has the phone storage compartment with the option for wireless charging. But in that same (vented) compartment is also a USB connection.
Riding the first few hours with the phone charging wirelessly, the battery capacity thereby changed from 73 to 56%.
Then connected the phone with a USB cable. After about 1 hour I checked and found that the capacity was now almost 80%. conclusion; wireless charging is possible but using a cable is better.

No matter which phone you use and which navigation app you use. Always connect your phone to a powersupply when navigation is active.
Navigation is power hungry. The real power consumption depends on the tasks a navigation app must execute.

Wireless charging can work. But it is important the phone is fixated steady on the base. Otherwise the charging can be interrupted. Also wireless charging generates more heat and navigation generates heat also. double heat production can slow down the wireless charging speed.
Wired charging, charges faster (normally), is more reliable and generates less heat. 3x better.

(I use MRA Next only on Android Auto. Every comment, suggestion, etc will be based on my usage with Android Auto)

That is definitely correct! Charging wirelessly has a maximum of 15W, of which sometimes more than half gets lost due to incorrect placement, or distances created by cases and things like that. That is really no comparison to cabled charging. Even with cabled charging many things have influence, but then more hardware related. Cable quality, sustained charging protocols by your charger and phone etc.
