Over heating phone?
-
Has anyone else noticed a return of over heating of the phone? I used MRA for a 40 min A to B route today. It was on a wireless Quad Lock charger. When I went to remove the phone it was extremely hot. Worried about issues this summer. Its only +2C right now but it was 23C in the car.

@RetiredWingMan This issue should have been resolved really.
I've tested quite extensively with this beta version in car / on bike / with CarPlay and no heating issues were present (with a device I used to have it with).
That said, all charging was wired. Wireless charging itself is known to generate more heat. Also, heating issues could be device related.

For some balance to this topic.
Yesterday I rode approximately 95 miles in around 15°c temperature. I used my iPhone 11 on a QuadLock wireless mount. My phone battery was about 60% when I set off and including a few stops my journey time was 3.5 hours. Zero heat in my phone and 100% charged at the end. -
Yes. I used my Samsung s24 with here maps (topo) for a trip in Normandy and the phone battery depletes very quickly and the phone is very hot with wired charging. It is connecting to a crapuride 702BS android auto.

Last week I had the same experience. IPhone 13 connected with a cable on CP and latest beta software. IPhone became that hot it switched of. After that connected an IPhone XS with the same result. Some updates back this wasn’t an issue anymore.

In my car my Pixel8pro cannot keep up with charging and it gets too hot within an hour of use with the screen off. No matter what app I navigate with and no matter if wireless or cabled charged. I think Android Auto is the culprit, not the MRA app.

@Con-Hennekens on the other hand. In my car I’m using the build in Android Auto screen connected to my Samsung S20FE by câble. The phone itself just stays connected by the cable but stays Off. The AA screen shows me the route and apart from the other AA problems that is without much trouble. With the phone starting at 40% battery at the end it is fully charged and not overheated. So you tell me what’s the difference

In addition to my previous post. On both IPhones displays were off. Using Google Maps on same CP doesn’t give heating problems. Using Google Maps the MRA App is crashing very often on the background. This is displayed on screen when I arrive at my destination and disconnecting my IPhone.
