    One thing I’m missing from my old Garmin days, is the feature whereby when you choose to start navigating, at the top of the list of routes you see the route with a start time closest to the current date/time.

    I always add a start date and time to my routes. When I used to use a Garmin, the top of the list of routes showed the route that was closest to the current date/time, with all the other routes below as normal.

    This is something I’d like to see in MRA. That would mean that I could keep my routes organised neatly in folders, but wouldn’t have to go clicking through them when looking for the day’s route. It’s great on a multi-day tour, or even a day with multiple routes, as the route you needs is the one that’s right there when you browse.

    An alternative, for me, would be to replace “last route” with “up next” (or offer the option to do so). I’ve never used the “last route” feature, as I’m never quite sure which the last route I looked at was.

    It’s not earth shattering, and people will probably say that it’s not for them for one reason or another, but for me it’s these little simple things that make an end user’s experience go from good to great. “Click reduction” in user interfaces is a valid thing and definitely worth looking into. I’m all for putting the information that the user needs next right in front of them, rather than them having to go find it.

      @Dae-0, I usually number my multiple day routes and organize them in separate folders. But nevertheless I think your suggestion would make a nice addition to the sorting options.

      I am not affiliated with MyRoute-App. The help I am offering is entirely voluntary.
      I am just an enthusiastic user, and hope you will be one too!

        @Con-Hennekens Mine are numbered and in folders. My organisation is meticulous. Information the more structure you have to your route library, the more screen taps are needed to find and start your route.

          Appreciate the suggestion!
          In all honesty, I do not think that we will change this in the very nearby future 😞

            @Corjan-Meijerink That’s a shame. It’s something I got used to Garmin doing for over 10 years. As they say, you don’t realise how useful something is until it’s gone. Sometimes the smallest details have a big impact on user experience.

              @Dae-0 it bothers me when users constantly ask MRA to replicate features from other navigation apps/tools/devices and then get upset when their suggestion is not immediately implemented. I want the best possible navigation tool from MRA, not a tool bloated with every possible option from every other navigation device. End of rant. 😊

                @RetiredWingMan nobody was upset.

                I was just pointing out that a simple thing can make a big difference to a user’s experience. I set start times and dates on all my routes. My phone knows the current time, and I’m looking in my list of routes to start navigating - it’s not a massive leap to figure out which route I’m looking for and offer it to me. For me it’s far more useful than the “last route” option, which I’ve always found to not be the route in looking for.

                  @RetiredWingMan, In general I agree with you. In this case it is a suggestion that makes use of another feature already implemented (entering a riding date/time in the planner). Therefore I think it is an okay suggestion. But in all honesty, it would not make any difference in my work methodology too indeed.

                  Besides that I have been a Zumo adept for a long time, but I can't remember having seen anything like this suggestion 😉 But my acquaintance with Zumo's is fading...

                    It’s a couple of years since my Zumo died, but it definitely used to put the route that had a start time similar to the current time at the top of the list.

                    There’s not much in the Zumo I miss, but this feature was like having an apprentice always stood there with the next required part/tool, rather than having to tell it what you needed next. 🤣
