I noticed that (comparatively speaking), it takes a while for the app to reroute if you don't follow its route. I had a AB route of about 30 miles and it took several exits of trying to take me back to the original route. I wound up ignoring it in favor of my preferred route. Any thoughts?

      Thanks,
      Dan

@RGDan59 I had an A-B route take 23mi to recalculate instead of trying to get me to make a u-turn. Have heard no feedback from devs on possible reasons.

@GT-JWR that is caused by the fact that MRA keeps trying to get you to the plotted route.
Is you drive en route with multiple waypoints in it and you get off course it will almost instantly provide you with an alternative to get back in that route

@Marinus-van-Deudekom I get that...however, if a simple A-B route, that has many, many options to reroute and won't do it for such a long distance, what use is A-B then? Why is MRA app stuck on the route? Obviously, it can be done - Google/Apple Maps, and even Scenic re route within a reasonble time/distance period.

@GT-JWR Maybe that @Corjan-Meijerink van give an explanation

It's indeed correct that there is a tendency to stick with the selected route rather than recalculating the fastest.

As GT JWR has indicated, my comparison is with Google which after a short distance "understands" that I'm far enough off-route that I must want to deviate from the original route and recalculates. I'd wonder if this element of re-routing is programable in MRA.

@RGDan59 honestly, for A to B routing I prefer to use an9ther app such as Google Maps or Wyse. They have better functionality. I love MRA for planned routes and it worked great during my last 29 day tour (24,200 kms).

                      No harm in saying so!
MRA's power is in advanced planning and navigation with high details.
A to B is nothing of that with perfect free alternatives 🙂

We do however want to make it sufficient for AB too 😉

@Corjan-Meijerink Hi Corjan--Meijerink, thank you for the honest answer. When I first got MRA, I wanted it to do everything for routing, solving all my problems, as well as addressing world hunger. With the options available, I can live with it not being the best at A to B 😁
