Garmin/BMW Nav 5, re-calculating issue
-
Hi All, I use MRA to create my route, import to my Nav 5, after which I convert track to trip and start my journey. However, when I miss let's a turn or junction, I get prompted to 're-calculate' but what I've seen is that it would, re-calculate a different route vs getting me to the point where I went off the route. Am I doing something wrong or that's how it should work?

@Ali-Rehman This behaviour is well known. The reason for this is that a route generated from a track only has two waypoints, namely start and destination. Therefore, recalculation with the navigation system settings leads directly to the destination. To prevent this, recalculation should be switched off.

@Reinhard-32 thanks for your feedback, essentially one needs to find a way to get back on track. Also have you used the MRA navigation app, I am thinking of using it as a back up. Does it behave the same way as Nav 5?

@Ali-Rehman If you use a route instead of a track on your Nav 5 with via points and waypoints you won't have this problem.
