You can start a free trial by opening the app itself on your phone and attempting to start the navigation.

@Donald-Blackie Sorry for jumping in but I know that @Corjan-Meijerink is busy. Yes, a navigation subscription is required to navigate. The Gold subscription is for the MRA RoutePlanner. Gold gives you access to all of the planning maps and tools as well as unlimited cloud storage of your routes and tracklogs.
