I'm a beginner, and planning a multi-day route in another country. The route loads fine in my GPS unit (Gold Wing) and shows how to get from my location to the END of the saved/imported route. I would think it would go to the beginning. Is there some identifier I should use for beginning or end? Thanks in advance.

@Paul-Podstawka We need more information to avoid groping around in the dark. Doctor, I have pain is not enough.
What have you used for planing?
Where is your beginning, where is the end? Where are you when starting this route?
How does your route look like, with some Waypoints?

@Jörgen The route begins in Rapid City SD, with the number 1, runs through Washington, Oregon and into California with the last waypoint number 150 ish near Phelan CA. The route loads into my bike GPS, I hit Go from my location in Canada, and rather than show me a route to SD, it connects to Phelan CA. Do I need to put some identifier on Start and End (both show a hand indiicating stop), or if I was in SD when I hit Go, will it likely go to the Rapid City point 1? I understand Tracks go in reverse (end to start) might that be the issue? I did import as a Route, not a Track. Appreciate any suggestions.

@Jörgen Just did some testing on other routes, looks like I'm ok, the first waypoint is Rapid City SD, and the destination is Phelan, CA, which is my final
waypoint in the route. Should be good. Thanks

Goldwing 2018 built-in nav? That is a terrible one. I own also a Goldwing 2018 but never used the built-in nav. What a disaster.

First suggestion ditch it and use Android Auto, Apple Carplay of something like a Garmin..

Did you look in the manual of the Goldwing? The Goldwings NAV can handle GPX but i'm pretty sure there some limitations. 150 points are a lot.

Just for me as an European. Phelan CA is Phelan in California?
If this is the case. Then it is strange why the Goldwing navigates you first to Phelan rarher than Rapid City.

Did you try to use a track instead of a route?
I've tried to use a track in the past once. A track seems to work fine.

I scrolled through the manual and did see some things which could help you to understand it's behaviour.

When you start your route and from there you go to "Current Route", "Edit Route" and select "Rearrange Waypoints". What is the first waypoint in the list. The is the first "Destination"

@M-Schrijver Think I've got it figured out.. the Route I imported is 3,000 miles plus so quite small on the screen... I was expecting GPS to show me the "Destination" as the beginning of the imported Route (South Dakota), like they were two separate things. Instead it NAMES the Destination as the end of the Route (which is the destination of the imported Route). So the GPS creates the part of getting from home, to the beginning of the imported Route, adds it to the Route and also shows the first Waypoint where it should be (the beginning of the Route). Thanks to all for your help on this!

After reading/scolling through the manual. This is what i expected it also.
A route is not a route as we know it. It is just a list of destinations. The GPS calculates by itself a route between those destinations.

Probably loading a track is a better way.
