This is by design! As your next instruction is very far away you get a better overview of your route rather than just a view of next 500m 😉

Until this point CP / AA was extremely zoomed in at all times, lacking an overview of the route. We are however curious if this behaviour as shown is desired 🙂

In my opnion a constant close zoom in is not desired.
More desirable is zoom in when approaching crossings and/or slowing down on speed.

(I use MRA Next only on Android Auto. Every comment, suggestion, etc will be based on my usage with Android Auto)

@M-Schrijver that’s exactly how it is now 🙂

Edit: it’s zoomed out in the provided example as the relevant instruction is 30+km ahead.

I agree zooming out if nothing happen close, but viewing ahead about 20km is may be too much.

@Corjan-Meijerink, I think this is great! Especially when driving highways! However in suburban or mountainesque environment, often crossroads where you go straight are not announced. With this zoomlevel you don't see them coming on screen. Maybe the zoomlevel can take into account the type of road you are driving, and adjust the zoomlevel accordingly?

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebar to the saddle.

@Con-Hennekens Wouldn’t the lower speed in suburban and mountainous areas dictate the zoom level?

@Nick-Carthew, that depends on the used thresholds. Germany for example has a speedlimit of 90 Kph on most suburban roads. Many bikers there go at speeds others would consider highway speeds. And in such a case probably the lower zoom-out factor is much more useful than on highways. So it is a bit contradictory.

@Peter-Schiefer, fully right on the 100 Kph of course. I think we agree 😉

@Nick-Carthew @Corjan-Meijerink would it not make sense to have the zoom correlated to a distance vs a speed? Speed has too many variables, and the biggest being the person behind the bars....whereas distance is obvioulsy constant.

And looking at the grand overview (anywhere a person may be) vs European specific criteria, to me, also makes sense. Speed limits and roadways are much different in North America. This is another good reason to use distance vs speed. My $0.02 worth.
