Navigation is not working
-
Hello,
I have planned an itinerary selecting "motorbike", everything seems to be ok but... when I travel the pointer is not moving at all, it stays on the very beginning of the route. On the Android Auto screen I can see the directions like if the app was working fine, but the map remains stuck at the beginning so it's not so easy to follow directions. Mobile phone remains with the screen on but with the same issue.
As suggested by the app I've selected "HERE" as type of MAP, could this be the problem? And one more point: why in Android Auto I can't skip waypoints? I have to skip them from the screen of my mobile and it's not so easy..

@Simone-11 we are currently investigating and working on the stability of Android Auto (and CarPlay).
Skipping waypoint from the car will also be supported!

@Simone-11 i had the same problem, a solution that worked for me was: 1) starting the app on my phone, 2) start the route on my phone, 3) connect to android auto, 4) keep the app active on the foreground of my phone, 5) turn screen off of phone. I don't know why, but in this way I can navigate for hours with android auto without any problems.

I have had similar, constant issues with Android Auto. Same situation as @Simone-11 mentions and one where the map was navigating fine but the but the turn-by-turn in the top left just remains frozen and the miles and time to arrival do not change. I did a 3 hour ride this past weekend stuck in the latter situation.
I am going on a 3 day ride this weekend and plan to apply the steps mentioned by @Vosser which I hope help.
I would much rather run MRA through Android Auto to take advantage of the bike screen and handlebar controls.

@Vosser thanks, I'll try this workaround. Up to now I was only starting the app on my mobile before starting the android auto app.

I have exactly the same issue with the app on my phone. The map freezes but the turn by turn instructions stay up with the route. Exactly the same happens with carplay. This fault usually happens after about 30 mins.

@Vosser Unfortunately it worked for a couple of hours, then.. again freezed and no way to make it works again, even unplugging phone and repeating the procedure.
Android Auto sometime gives also an "unexpected error" after some time.I have bought a lifetime navigation app but I hope not wait a life to see it working...

What is the temperature of the phone while using MRA.
High temperature can cause freezes -
I hope you figure this out soon! Planning a week long trip in a week and now the app does not work on android auto. It worked a couple of weeks ago pn my last trip but now it does not work! Did you update it?

+1 for CarPlay issues.
I just started using the app this week. So far so good. I'm ready to buy a lifetime subscription but this little hiccup wasn't encouraging.
I believe I started the phone app, but I don't recall if I used CarPlay to start the route. I was getting turn-by-turn in the top left and the map was.. mostly frozen. It seemed to update to a seemingly random spot once in a while. I ended up exiting the route through CarPlay, killing the app on my phone and starting it all from CarPlay. That worked the rest of the day. (250 miles, 5 hrs)
I then was able to open my phone app and get the extra details of the ride there. I like seeing the speed limit/my speed like Waze on the phone app. (well.. I'd like it on CarPlay, but..)

@Simone-11 so sorry to hear it doesn't work for you. Hope they find a solution for you.

@Darren-Sharp-0 I would definitely plan a backup. I just did a 3 day trip and I was to lead day 2. 350 miles over 8 hours and less than a mile into the trip, the turn-by-turn froze in the top left. I was so focused on this that I missed a turn and the app never recalculated to get back on route. After a few more miles I had to stop the whole group so my buddy could take over and lead through his GPS and the GPX files I sent him the day before. It's a good thing I sent him the route or the day would have been ruined.
I guess I'll be digging out my TomTom and have to convert all my routes back to that platform. Very frustrating to say the least.
I was using a Pixel 7 with the latest OS and updates through Android Auto on my 2021 Honda Goldwing.

@Corjan-Meijerink
Any update to this? I'm still regularly seeing the same issue. It's been 2 months and several updates I'm sure. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. I've closed the app several times and started from the Motorcycle/CarPlay vs the phone and vis-a-versa and nothing seems to help. The next day, it worked flawlessly for 280 miles.Currently running 4.0.5 228

Thanks.

@AirmanW8 sounds exactly what has happened to my plan, a couple of days apart, for 2 different routes. Guess I got lucky in between those couple of days as it worked once...wasn't long before the excitement died out.
