Living in South Florida with the sun and heat, the iPhone screen is automatically dimmed and almost impossible to read by Apple. The dimmed screen has many data fields that are not displayed on the CarPlay screen and they become useless because the screen is very difficult to read. Trying to read the iPhone while in a phone holder with a dimmed screen could cause an accident. We need those data fields moved to the CarPlay screen so that they become useable. The data fields such as compass, speed limit, skip waypoint...etc.

For people who live in cooler climates and little sun, it may be less of an issue, but for us who live where the sun shines and the temperatures are in the 80's or 90's, it becomes very important.

Yes, the screen is set to complete brightness, but apple dims the screen until the phone cools down.
