Download Offline Maps is not possible
-
After experiencing uncontable navigation issues like in this post
https://forum.myrouteapp.com/user/peter-kinver
I wanted to give the new navigation a try.
I want to use offline navigation & offline charts, so I started the download of Germany (as whole / in sections) hours ago -every single download attempt failed, the app freezes and I have to reboot my Android-Device.
I do not get any charts, not even the smallest ones!
Any explanations for this behaviour?
Or does the new app start just like the old one worked, I mean not worked!PS: Internet is working I own Navigation Lifetime & Membership Gold.

@daryl-4 It should work normally. Some tips: uninstall the app and reinstall it. Start by downloading a small country (e.g. Luxembourg) and keep the app "active" while downloading... so don't do anything else with your phone.

@Bart-DM
Hi Bart, thanks for your answer.
All you suggested...I have already gone through today.
But the app doesn't work normal.I have already reinstalled the app, updated it. I kept the phone active, I rebooted the device, ect.
I didn't do anything else while downloading attempt and I can't get the tiniest mapdates. Bremen, 99 MB ...freezed🤬!Is there anyone out there experiencing the same problem?
MRA team ... is your server down?
I'm so fed up with this ... -
@daryl-4 I'm not an Android user, but can you empty the app's cach?
-
@Bart-DM
Already done. -
@daryl-4 Ok, if I were yours I would create a ticket in the support section so you can get personal assistance from the MRA team.
-
@Bart-DM
Your confidence is great, but in the last years I have created tickets for all the problems I had with the navigation app.
You know what? I never got even an answer and if I got replies it wasn't anything that helped.
Thank you at this point, I'll try later again.
Enjoy yor weekend -

@daryl-4, I know the app causes some headscratches concerning the off-line maps, but I have never seen the problem you are describing. I would almost think your firewall is blocking access to the map-server (which is HERE and not MRA btw). Are you able to use some one else his internet connection? Or try it over 4G? What kind of device are you using?

@Con-Hennekens
Feel lucky not to face these issues. I like the sentence Its HERE Maps, not MRA
At last I spend the whole day downloading a few offline maps for testing the new navigation app. Maybe it works on one of my five devices? -
@daryl-4, Having that same problem on all your devices, while clearly everyone is able to download maps (be it with hicups) in my view is an indication of a problem that lies in your internet connection / firewall / VPN or whatever infrastructure. Did you follow my advice to try your neighbours wifi or GSM data?
-
Hi Daryl, I had also some problems. It took me three or four attempts, mostly at times when others were not on the internet, to complete my maps for a few countries. But in the end they were downloaded.
It doesn't work perfectly, why I don't know? Maybe they use different servers for user in Germany.
What I find stupid, however, is that for a few small updates you have to completely re-download all the maps. I'd better not do that at the moment. -
@Jörgen, TomTom and Garmin devices also exchange the complete map data for each update. But you are right, that can be done cleverer on a smartphone. In fact, it has been done cleverer, by only downloading the delta's of the maps (the changed parts). However that function (of the HERE platform) was so desperately unstable that the dev team decided to take it out and redownload the complete maps instead. I do hope HERE is able to fix that AND the troublesome complete downloads soon!

@daryl-4 I have the same problem

Would be an easy fix if it was just that, wouldn't it
