Experiences with using a long route and apple car play. A long route but only 6 shaping points.

When starting the route on the phone the carplay screen and the phone for that matter, do not show the correct orientation. The arrow is shown and the route horizontal rather that vertical. No matter what buttons I pressed this would not rectify.

Arrow would not follow the route, I could see the route disappearing (faded blue line) but the arrow would not move.

Screen kept freezing and not moving with the route - until my workaround.

Only way to get the route to work properly and navigate, I had to open the route on the phone, select navigate, then menu show route, it showed the overall route. At which point the route in the carplay screen started to work properly.

When trying to use the car radio (I have a vw touareg), the radio keeps interrupting the map, as the mra gave a direction the radio banner would be replace the navigation map and I would have to go back into the menu and reselect carplay for the map to be visible. Google maps and apple maps do not have this issue.

I turned the radio off and played music from apple music. The MRA directions were really quiet so turned up the volume and apple music became deafening. In apple maps if I turn the volume on on whatever application is speaking/playing it turns up just that volume not everything.

It would be nice to be able to choose a voice specific to MRA not the usual Siri one.

Kept losing voice turn prompts later on, even though the map showed the route. If I made the turn anyway, then MRA would announce the distance I had to travel on the road, but miss the next turn but speak the distance again.

Speed cameras were not shown or alerted.

Even though I have the setting on about always downloading the map for no cell areas, this did not seem to work unless I manually downloaded the route beforehand.
