Am I doing something wrong?

Planned a route and downloaded it for offline use and selected it from my downloads.
When starting to navigate a notice said "can not calculate offline. Go online?" I could do this because I was still at home and within wi fi range. This done, it worked perfectly for the whole route. However if I had not been within wi fi range initialy it would have been unuseable.
I notice that some offline problems have been corrected for the public release so maybe it's been taken care of. -

@Roger-Doidge Perhaps a silly question, but have you also downloaded the map(s) for the region through which your route passes?

@Rob-Verhoeff I've never been prompted to do that,so the answer is no, I haven't downloaded any maps. The route was only about 50 km in my local area.
I was not aware that specific maps had to be downloaded or how to do that. -

@Roger-Doidge To download maps onto your device follow these pictures:
Press the 3 horizontal bars in the top left corner
Press the icon in the top right corner
Scroll down to Offline maps
Download the maps you think you might need.
This used to take a long time to process, have patience.
Then you can work off-line when neededGood luck!
