    Hey,

I don't know if I am the only one that has this issues but... When using MRA during driving, it is sometimes hard to press buttons with my gloves since they are quite small. E.g. the confirmation buttons / actions when cancelling a trip: The cancel button "X" is big - but the follow up actions like "Are you sure?" and then navigation back to the main menu is hard to press correctly. Another example would be the selection of a favourite - always a lucky game for me to hit the favourite right the first time šŸ˜‰

Have I missed an option to visualize MRA in a "Glove Friendly View" (with less information on the screen then since this would use more space on the GUI) or is this the normal behaviour?

    Cheers,
    Oliver

@OliverF Welcome to the forum. Which app are you using? The big X you mentioned makes me suspect that you are using the old app "Navigation". Starting from 19/6, MRA is launching the new app "MyRoute-app Mobile" which also includes navigation features. In this new app, the process of breaking down a route is slightly different, and the buttons are also slightly smaller. The old app will no longer be supported and will likely stop working after some time.
Take a look at this page to explore the features of the updated app.

P.S.: This doesn't address your questions about operating the app with gloves, I realize. Of course, it's always better to minimize doing that while driving šŸ˜‰.

I moved away from MRA to Scenic purely because Scenic’s WunderLINQ integration is fantastic and removes the requirement to touch the screen.

Not all my gloves are touch screen friendly, but even when wearing ones that are compatible I still find it much better to use the BMW wonderwheel.

The developer of Scenic has done a fantastic job of making everything work with the WunderLINQ, including the ability to play/pause/skip tracks in Spotify. I’ve done over 2,500 miles using Scenic and not had to touch the screen.

I still use MRA for route planning though - that’s where Scenic isn’t very useful. I plan everything in MRA and then import into Scenic and share the Scenic route with my wife. This works really well as any charges I make to the route are automatically updated for her so we’re know we’re both following an identical route (the route in her library is effectively a pointer to the real route in my library, not a point in time copy of my route). Scenic also uses the Apple family sharing, so we only need one license to cover both of us.

I really like MRA Next, but simply couldn’t get on with having to touch the screen. Not having the ability to quickly play/pause Spotify or skip tracks directly from the navigation app, without taking a hand off the bars, is something that will block me moving back to MRA as anything more than a planning tool.

Please don’t misinterpret this post as a hard sell of Scenic as it’s not. I’m just pointing out something that another app does that MRA doesn’t, and how this has influenced my choice of app. It’s an opportunity for improving MRA that could ultimately stop people like me using a competitor’s product.

@Dae-0 Good to read that MRA partially meets your needs. There is another topic about the WunderLINQ. You can read it here.

I’m fully aware of MRA and WunderLINQ. There’s been quite a few discussions where it’s been promised ā€œin the futureā€. I was just pointing out that until such time as it’s supported there’ll be a few people that may consider other options.

                Hey @Rob-Verhoeff,

                thank your for your answer.

And yes, I am using the "Navigation" app since the "MR-App Mobile" really didn't work for me or I was to stupid to use it: When I was using this app, I didn't see any route information like next waypoint distance, speed etc. Just a map with the pointer. That was all. So I skipped it.

But as I saw the "Next" version will be out soon, so I have to switch anyhow and hope that there I can navigate as usual šŸ˜‰

I think your navigation experience will be greatly enhanced over the old app šŸ˜‰

Obviously you did not try the beta of the Mobile app, but the last public release instead. You need to enlist for the beta, as mentioned in your subscription mail. But to be honest: public release is due in a week, so not really beneficial if you are not into testing things.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Personally 99% of the time using the MRA Navigation Next Beta I never need to touch the screen either.
Shaping Points are automatically skipped and I will always ride through the Via Points.
I would take a guess that the other 1% is the same for all Navigation Software, where an unforeseen occurrence has happened along the route, therefore requiring screen interaction.

You don’t stop riding when you get old, you get old when you stop riding.

@Con-Hennekens Looking forward to the new experience!

Since I am already a Gold/Livelong member for quite a time I did not received any special invitation mail for the Beta program (or I simply ignored it which I assume the more obvious reason :-))

Because I start on my Holidays with my motorbike in two weeks ahead I really would like to try out the version in the next days to see if it works for me. Do you know if the registration process is still available and fast enough to handle this?
