Android v3.2.16 - Android Auto seems to be completely broken

Hi there!
Just freshly installed the v3.2.16 and my Android Auto display stays pitch black!
If I touch the screen it will only let me choose "Last route" but when activating this just an empty list appears and the wait cursor rotates "forever".The mobile phone is an Oppo w/ Android 13.1 (ColorOS 13.1 official).
On the mobile phone itself everything works like a charm.
I already tried re-installation but that didn't help.
Any hints on getting it to work or is it actually a bug?

Andreas@Andreas-Voelkel try restarting the app and connecting Android Auto after launching the app. Let me know if that helps!

Restarting the app just shows a "static" map of the current place but still when call "Last routes" the progress circle turns forever...
When taking a video of the behavior (don't know how to upload here) the map was gone again now showing white empty screen (with here logo in lower right corner) instead of pitch black one but still nothing happens with "Last routes" call...Additionally I would have expected some more buttons on the Android Auto screen and not only last routes: my intention is to operate the app entirely from the Auto screen and not having to open and operate the app in addition from my mobile...

@Andreas-Voelkel That is the intention in the future, but Carplay/AA has yet to be pretty much fully developed. Currently, it is best to start a route from the smartphone and use CarPlay/AA only as a screen duplicator.
