Slow calculation
-
Hello, I'm new to MRA Navigation Next and managed to get out for a test ride for the first time yesterday.
Using on Huawei P Smart in the UK with maps downloaded but off line not enabled as I get many rout calculation failures when in Off Line.
I found that on many occasions, perhaps 50% of the time the app was very slow to update from one junction to the next, some time I was at the next junction before the app refreshed. This was also the same when recalculation a rout after a deviation.
Other Nav apps work perfectly on my phone ao I don't think it is a phone issue.
Obviouse question is should I have off line activated?
I don't really understand how the On Line and Off Line options work. I would have thought that for an app that will probably be used in remote locations all navigation functions should be designed to work Off Line without any need to select a mode.
Any help appreciated. -
@Angelo-Greco, Th lagging of the GPS position is a known issue and being worked on. Offline operation and downloaded maps are two separate things. Off line maps will always be used prevalent to online maps, even if you are in online mode. Offline mode just tells that the MRA app can't go online (even if a connection is available. Route calculations will be done off-line (of course the maps need to be downloaded for that) and no traffic info and things like that will be downloaded live.
-
@Angelo-Greco to make full use of offline navigation you also need to download the route(s) and then load them from the Download folder.

@Con-Hennekens thank you, I tried agin today in my car. As of now the app is not usable for me, I had completely passed all of the junctions on my short trip, yet the map was showing the cursor still to enter the junction (can't remember what distance to the junction was still showing). On 2 occasions I had negotiated the following junction with MRA still being 1 junction back. I knew the rout I was traveling and was just using MRA as a test.
I am also getting a lot of failures when calculating route and have to repeat the process several times.
Not sure if I need to raise any of my issues on another thread or if they will be picked up here? -
@Angelo-Greco, Are you in an area with bad reception? I think your issues are all under attention of the devs. If not I am sure they will pick it up here. That's what we are here for

@Con-Hennekens GPS reception was good, there should be no need for cell phone connection as it should work off line.

@Angelo-Greco, many of us are already navigating offline. I don't know why it does not work for you. Some more detailed info could probably help.

For me the same, tried a couple times in my car on android auto.
On the map i drive sideways for a couple km's or even backwards. Also when i drive straight again it can't keep up with my speed.
The i stop at the side of the road. Restart the app then it works for a couple minutes but after that i have some of the above issues. It's not the internet conection bacause googlemaps waze and flitsmeister work fast and correct
Tried it on my bike on just my phone and had the issue that it was to slow, if i wouldn't pat attention and known the route i would have missed the turn.
I use it on my onplus nord with android 12.
And in my ford focus sync 3with android auto.
