Muting shaping points - mutes turn instruction
-
A question about shaping point muting behavior.
When I am muting the shaping point and have a turn close to the shaping point, it seems like it mutes the instruction about the turn as well. This is common in how I plan my rides currently as I use the shaping points to ensure the route turn’s exactly where I want it to.
Is this how the shaping point muting is intended to work? Or is this a glitch in the way my app is working on my phone?
If this is how shaping point Muting will work in the final app, how far from a turn does a shaping point need to be for the turn to be announced?
Thanks for all of your work on the app, I have been using extensively this spring and its been great!

@Kevin-Buckley Interesting!
So the muted shaping point announcements really only mutes the announcement "You've reached a waypoint - it's on the right side" for example.
However, you can imagine that when a waypoint corresponds almost exactly with an instruction the HERE SDK decides to only announce the waypoint (and not the instruction). This would make sense as the waypoint would get a higher priority (a user choice versus one of many announcements).
If you choose to mute the shaping points announcement there isn't a fallback to announce the instruction.
Long story short: seems like a very realistic and difficult but logical situation. Not something we can fix soon.
Note: general voice instruction improvements and configuration options are scheduled. Those might just help with this issue

@Kevin-Buckley, that's a good catch! There have been situations where I though: "Why isn't Truus saying something". Could be I experienced the problem you are depicting.

Interesting, I now go over all my routes to make sure there are no waypoints in front of turns. I move waypoints to after the turn.
