    What does this button means? Updating the maps of the already installed maps?
    After installing 15 European maps, I pushed this button ... but I can't see if the update is in progress or not (blocked/crashed) ... After 15 minutes I still see "updat downloaden" ...
    Suggestion: making vissible the % of the progress of the update possible ?

      @MarcM that is exactly what it does.
      We want to add a nice progress indicator but unfortunately….we don’t know the progress 😞

      Just leave it running for way longer. Especially if you got 15 maps, it might take a while 🙂

        @Corjan-Meijerink, does it re-download the updated maps completely or does it download the delta's of those maps? In the first case you can check the volume of the current maps beforehand and display the amount of the downloaded volume against the total of the old maps (or calculate a percentage), there wil not be a significant difference unless complete countries get added to a map. If only delta's are downloaded, it might be trickier, but it would only need to download a very small fraction of the total volume of the maps and it would not take long in the first place (maps don't change that drastically over a few days 😉 ).

          @Con-Hennekens thanks for thinking along! 🙂 It should only be downloading the differences but it seems to take quite some time in determining them. It’s all just a bit tedious in working everything out as it’s not easy to test all cases.

            @Corjan-Meijerink, Good to hear only delta's are downloaded, but not very handy when the determination of those takes more time than the re-download of the complete set... 😉 Is this HERE functionality or does the app calculate the delta? HERE likely... If they version their updates, delta's between versions could be indexed instead of in need for calculation every time. But try to explain that to a developer that does not carry the name Corjan... 😀

              @Con-Hennekens hahah, we actually requested a feature change in the SDK but we’ll see if that is picked up. So far still pretty happy with how offline maps work but I know I just need to be patient - click the button and go do something else with my life. Looking at it won’t make it speed up. I do however understand it’s suboptimal as it is and we aim to improve it

                @Corjan-Meijerink, being patient is not so much of a problem, it's the not seeing/knowing if it's actually doing something that is killing folks I think. What does it do when you quit the update screen, will it pickup okay if you accidentally quit the app, or do I need to go through the procedure again? If you carry on with your life after pressing update, like patient people do, a lot of things can happen that could interrupt the procedure. Being patient is one thing, being patient for nothing and having to be patient again is another 😉

                  @Con-Hennekens hahah, very true.

                  I actually just had the “Download update” button. Clicked it, put the app in background (just opening another app) and when I came back after 10 minutes it was all done.

                  If you terminate the app during an update the memory will ge corrupted, you’ll get another message when opening the offline maps saying we need to repair your storage 🙂

                      @Corjan-Meijerink In my opinion the most important to know is if it’s still in progress or there’s a problem (blocked/crashed/lost internet connection)…..maybe that’s (more) easier for you ? 🤔

                        @MarcM good to know it finished! If the buttons says it’s downloading: all good. If something went wrong, it will tell you 🙂

                        But yes, definitely room for improvement! Will get that sorted.

                          Off course the speed of downloading maps depends on the speed of your network connection. (But tis is for most users an open door...?)

                            @Dikke-Wim it seems to be more dependent on the network speed rather than your local connection speed.

                              @Corjan-Meijerink I think a very minor change could help here: display some kind of "busy" animation (a spinning arrow, or whatever), so it's not just static text.
