Supported Android Version?

Hello everyone, I'm thinking of buying an used Android tablet. What I can get cheap at the moment is a Samsung Active TAB 2, but it only has Android 9.
Can this version support everything from MRA Next?
Or is Android 9 too old? -
Android 9 is fine

Yes you are right. I am not sure what would be the best option, a CarPlay Display or rugged Tablet. I am still in the finding phase.

The practical usage on the road will show it. Tomorrow is the first real test for the Elebest. I will report.
I have the option to get a Samsung for 100€.

@Jörgen, do you really need such a big tablet? The carplay module also does not have such a big screen, does it? For around 200 bucks you can get a rugged smartphone brand new, with a current Android, more memory, faster processor etc. ready for many years of usage.
Search for Ulefone.

Or is Android 9 too old?@Jörgen can confirm that Android 9 should work. However we do always recommend the latest OS.

@Corjan-Meijerink Android devices don't get updates like iOS devices.
It's up to each manufacturer to update the OS. Sadly, most manufacturers don't care, they just make a new model. The latest version available for the Samsung Tab Active 2 is either Android 9 or 10. They made a new Samsung Tab Active 3 and now a 4, so they have discontinued support for the 2. That's why the 2 is so cheap to acquire.
Please keep this in mind for future releases that the latest and greatest Android API level isn't necessarily going to work for the masses. I would say for now, that Android 9 is the minimum anyone should be using (and not using it for an everyday device, but for nav only it's perfect).

@Matt-Flaming
My Samsung S10 5G 6.7” is on Android V12 now, so I guess it’s still got some life left in it yet.
Your assumption is correct in my case, this phone is used just for Navigation.
