Spoken route instructions

Hi,
Spoken route instructions in different languages, like in the MRA Navigation, it's already planned?
-
@Vlad-Popovici-0 Spoken instructions are already implemented! You can turn them on / off in the Navigation Preferences.
The voice instructions are only available in English, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, German and French
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Where?
This is how MRA Navigation look
This is how MRA App looks
Is there a different location for more preferences?
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Or the voice prompts just uses the set language, since only the main languages are supported now?
-
@Vlad-Popovici-0 Correct, the voice prompts match the language of the app. We can separate that later.
The only configuration possible now for voice prompts in Navigation Next are on/off
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Yeah, I got it.
I tested it a couple of days ago... I was laughing at every message because the TTS engine is set to Romanian, and the language spoken is English. You can't imagine the result
I can't wait the separation, like in MRA Navigation, hopefully soon
The beta worked quite good, only once it crashed, but I didn't tried yet to repeat the same steps to see if is consistent or not.
-
@Vlad-Popovici-0 That is indeed hilarious! Hearing an English TTS engine speaking typical Dutch streetnames is really awkward too.
If you got more information about crashes, feel free to share. Stability will be improved with every Beta update.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I tested the app today for the first time (sorry, am a bit busy at work). I did not get any spoken instructions, regardless of the toggle. Nor any instructions on the screen. Also no speed indication. What did I do wrong?
-
@Evert-Kuiken No need to apologise! Sounds like you are simply using the Mobile app to be honest. Please share a screenshot of the issue you are having
-
@Corjan-Meijerink About that, I salute the latest update, where now the buttons have a label too instead of only the icon. Now is easier for first time use to understand that left one is Mobile and right one is Navigation.
Do you consider adding the progressive curvy selection of the route generation for Navigation too? I mean it could be generated and previewed like it is for mobile, and only when you hit start to go to Navigation, using the generated route with curvy setting...
-
@Corjan-Meijerink Yesterday I tested the app with a selfmade route. When I got started I heard the first spoken instruction and after that no spoken instructions anymore.
-
@Vlad-Popovici-0 Yes, that is scheduled for much later It’s a quite complex project to get that integrated in HERE
-
@Paul-de-Vogel Interesting. Thanks for mentioning!

Hello,
+1 with spoken instructions problems .
In my case, I have the app in english, but my iphone 7 is Portuguese. The result is hilarious !!!I can recognize the names of the roads as well as locations mixed out with something that is not English ! Is it possible that the app is getting the language information from the iphone and because it does not recognize Portuguese language, it is defaulting to something else ? Maybe Dutch or German ?
I have the app in English, but I'm pretty sure that the voice instructions I'm getting is not English .

@JPN Thanks for the information. As Portugese is not support by our app yet weird results are indeed possible.
By default, the app will show everything in English for you but the spoken instructions will indeed be very strange. This is something scheduled for future updates.
-
@Corjan-Meijerink I noticed similar thing in Polish version, very funny effect
By the way, is it possoble to help you with translation the app to Polish language version - I mean labels and other texts? -
