Skipping a Via point...
-
I just noticed that on the Nav App you can now skip the VIA point as long as it is not the first or the last one. Which is a great idea!
I am just not sure if it only allows for the manual skip or the automatic skip will also work if you miss a Via point? Is that something new or it has been around a while?
Thx! -

Thx!@Lenny-O Via points are never skipped automatically.
You can set automatic skipping in the settings, but this only applies to shaping points.
However, you can also skip Via and shaping points manually.
This feature has been available for at least two years (that’s how long I’ve been using it).
I prefer do skip all types of waypoints manually all the time.

Thanks, guys! I guess I assumed that VIAs can not be skipped in either manual or auto mode...... Duh!
Believe it or not in a couple of years I am using the app, I NEVER needed to skip a VIA

I hope one day via points can be skipped. I use shaping points to work around this limitation. This has a side effect : all shaping points are visible, also those which do not represent anything useful and are only added to shape a route.
note that via points can be skipped when you add a diversion to avoid a roadblock. -
