Mileage to destination versus waypoint to waypoint

I've been using MyRoute for a but on a recent ride it was not showing me distance to my destination but, the distance to the next waypoint. I know it's user error but could use some guidance

Its not an error. Is you click on the button with the time you can select 3 modes
Destination, a finish flag
Time to next shaping points a blue drop
Time to next Viapoint the hand symbol

The second option is time and distance to the next waypoint, this can be a shaping point or via point. A blue droplet is used to distinguish the difference to the via point setting.
