Scale

Despite the fact that for the app is not working I am confident that some time it will. What would be very nice is a scale to figure out distances easily. Especially if you show a planned route to someone and check driving options.

What exactly isn’t working?

Before you tap “Navigate,” you see an overview of the entire route, including distance, duration, and the number of waypoints. What isn’t clear about that that makes you specifically want to see a scale somewhere? A smartphone screen is too small to display that effectively anyway, isn’t it? Or am I misunderstanding your question?

Think about that: I drove with my son and planned routes. Sometimes it would be nice to show the route and estimate distances to the next town or whatever POI a scale (Maßstab) somewhere would help to estimate the distance. That's all. I don't care about the total distance. And what is not working has been explained by me in the forum. Thanks for feedback.

@Thomas-Neumeyer You're very welcome!
At the bottom of the screen—in the info box—you can switch between the distance/ETA to the next waypoint, the next viapoint, and the end of the route. -
Thats an idea. Did not thought about that. Thanks Rob

I do see an advantage in having a scale. It gives a reference about how far you are zoomed in/out. A long time ago I proposed to have the white circle around the flyer to be sized according to scale. If you know the diameter of the circle is always, let's say 10 meters in reality, it gives a much better idea of the real distances on the map.

@Con-Hennekens Interessant idee!

@Rob-Verhoeff, Yes that's true indeed. At the time I proposed this, the circle always was white transparent like. If you are zoomed out a lot, the circle could disappear under the flyer, but in such case scale is less important than at closer zoom levels I think. It was just an idea, can be further improved of course
