threads are locked? why?

I notice that quite few recent threads have been locked and I do not find a good reason for any of these locks?

Cna someone explain please?

Hi Drab,

Can you give some examples? Usually threads are locked when they're irrelevant, dead or illegal.

Those with administrative permissions are myself, and from the community they are Hans van de Ven and Nick Carthew.

The main goal is to keep threads from derailing, being necro'd or to keep the forum clean.

Hoi Hans,

Ik wil deze twee niet speciaal open hebben om te reageren en ik begrijp uw idee om ze af te sluiten omdat de issue is opgelost.

Ik heb mijn vraag enkel gesteld omdat het blokkeren van een thread meestal nogal negatief wordt bekeken als een admin reactie op een discussie die uit de hand loopt, of als een admin ingreep om te voorkomen dat kritiek op de site/bedrijf... kan geuit worden. Ik begrijp van MRA genoeg om te weten dat dit hier niet het geval is maar ...

Misschien is het beter om bij een compleet beantwoorde vraag een "solved" vlagje te zetten maar toch nog toe te laten dat iemand nog bijkomende vragen/reacties kan plaatsen?

Saying what I said again (but in summary): It may not be the best option to lock a thread, and it may be better to add a "Solved" flag to it to avoid that some folks understand the "lock" as a form of censorship

I'm joking of course. There's no direct way to do this right now, but I'll discuss it with Hans and Nick. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
