PDF export: suggested additional options
-
PDF export is a great way to turn a plan into a professional-looking route book. Club members coming on a drive can read through it and get an idea of risky roads, scenery etc.
The beta's new map export function comes with a whole screen of super helpful options. But the PDF export comes with none. Could we have some?
In particular I would like to have a switches to remove the turn-by-turn directions. We add the exported PDF into route books for long trips, where no one sane would use the 200-step turn-by-turn but all the other info is very helpful. (At the moment I chop off the last 10-20 pages of the PDF when putting it into a route book, but this looks bad because the first half a page of turn-by-turn still appears. It's a bit better in the new app because it's in two columns, but still something we would drop when making a route book.)
And why not have a switch to make the photos in the plan twice the size?
And perhaps an indication (optional by switch) of the route planning assumptions: traffic? seasonal closures? off-road? bike/car?
But while you're at it why not add the full set of options that the downloaded map has? It would be great to tune the colour, remove shaping points but add via points, etc.

Mee eens.

I also agree that the PDF export feature could be improved, both in terms of its visual presentation and its content.
Hopefully, Corjan will be willing to dedicate some time to making these changes.
