@Andy-Smith-3 mra just uses the voice setup on the phone
change it in the phone settings - text to speech

for more detailed instructions might help if you say what your phone is - iPhone / android

@Brian-McG that's indeed one way to do it
For iOS I think its valid but for Android you can change in MRA setting and choose another voice

This is on my Android Pixel 7:
From within the MRA Next app
Go to Navigation settings
Select the Audio option
My TTS Engine is set to com.google.android.tts
Select the Voice option

From the voice option I'm presented with multiple languages and a choice of voices for each listed language.

There are both male and female voices available in English (United Kingdom). I have a female voice selected.
