I don't understand why users expect MRA to duplicate every feature from every other navigation app. Simplicity is good. Focus on what MRA does well.

As a new user, I am trying to establish whether I have missed any functionality. The ability to combine track logs I believe to be an important function in order to record an overview of a multi-day trip. I was looking for help - your response is not helpful. I hope others can be more so.

I use MyRoute app for navigation now but still use my zumoXT and Basecamp for track work and proximity alerted poi’s. I’m aware that not many use this functionality so I’m ok using two tools.

          Hi

I am in the process of migrating to MyRoute from BaseCamp. I have been a BaseCamp user for many years on both Windows and Mac. Now forced to migrate as Mac support is ending - I use Mac & iPhone when on the road, Windows workstation at home. I make 5 or 6 trips in the camper each year; each trip is between 9 and 21 days in duration.

Migration has been straightforward and I am generally very happy with the functionality, and the seamless way I can move between browsers on both Win & Mac, the iPad and iPhone apps. I found it easy to transfer files between MyRoute & my Garmin Camper SatNav and transfer POIs, routes, & track logs from BaseCamp.

I like to be able to display the complete trip on a map. I can combine multiday routes into a single route for each trip - this works well. It does not seem possible to combine the track logs - I am aware that you can create a new route by importing the track logs, but unlike the merge functionality when combining routes, which results in a single colour for the combine route, when I combine the track logs they retain the individual colours. Perhaps there is functionality to change the colour that I have not found. This relatively trivial - but I don't want to combine tack logs into a route.

Faced with this problem I looked more closely at the track logs which I imported from BaseCamp and I discovered that I cannot find a way to examine the detail of the log which I can do in BaseCamp. I have not tried to migrate the logs direct from the Garmin SatNav - but I suspect this would give the same result - please correct me if I am mistaken.

          Screenshot 2026-06-20 150541.jpg Screenshot 2026-06-20 150638.jpg

Can I display this information in MyRoute? or did I not transfer the route logs correctly?

Also I can save additional information the POI records on BaseCamp - in MyRoute I don't think it is possible to add link. Have I missed this functionality?

          Screenshot 2026-06-20 151437.jpg

I was anticipating that I would be able to duplicate all the BaseCamp functionality - but it would appear the MyRoute provides all the planning tools for a trip, but lacks the ability to store all of the detail of the trip. I hope I am wrong as I really like the MyRoute functionality.

@John-Matthews-0 ...may in future we will get such features, because the MRA Website is going to be renewed from scratch. So please be patient...

Sorry, but I don't agree with your point of view.
The days when MyRouteApp was simple are long gone! Hardly any other app today offers as much as MyRouteApp.

And that’s a good thing, because that’s exactly what we need for sophisticated trip planning, including preparation, navigation and post-trip analysis.

There are plenty of ‘simple’ tools on the market for users who are happy with that level of functionality – for example, for a trip to the ice-cream parlour.

On the other hand, MyRouteApp’s competitors are catching up fast. We should take suggestions from new users seriously, so as not to lose our market position.

MRA is never advertised as a track editor. It is a route planner. That's different things. I do understand the wish of those functions to be combined. But google track editor and you will find a plethora of programs and services that already do that just fine.

I am just an enthusiastic MRA user, and hope you will be one too!

Track editor - where did that come from?

I made no mention of editing a track.

My post was to determine whether, as an inexperienced user (using MyRoute for ~1 week), there was functionality that I had not discovered, particularly in terms of displaying information that is captured in the touring and hiking devices that I use. I do not wish to edit the track log I wish to display what has been captured. The comprehensive set of information that is captured is important to me as a record of where I have been and what I have achieved. I do not wish to change the log, I just wish to access it so that I, and others, can learn from it.

As said above, yes, it is possible to use Basecamp or an alternative, to display all the information that has been captured in a track log. I simply want to minimize the number of apps/application I need to use (in my 80th year, I want a simple life!). Because of my IT background, I can still cope with new software and moving between different platforms and applications to access information. But, it would be easier to have a single application that was able to accommodate the inseparable information that is needed/recorded across the lifecycle of a trip from planning through to assessment and sharing experiences.

I am yet to use the MyRoute track log functionality - can a developer/expert please explain what is captured by MyRoute, specifically is the data set similar to that I am able to capture on Garmin devices, or a subset? - does it contain the information necessary to provide a basis for further enhancements. I note that the items in the MyRoute track log summary are accurate for the logs I imported. Times defaulted to UT (therefore no daylight saving correction) - not sure if that's a function of MyRoute or the data imported - not a problem - just want to understand.

I understood that you want to merge tracklogs. Sounds like a track editing feature to me.

If it is just about an overview, there is a simple solution:

                  • Start a new route
                  • Click the hamburger menu in the left column
                  • Click Tracklogs and the add button
                  • Browse your tracklogs to add them to the map.

                    @Con-Hennekens
I disagree ‘edit’ means to ‘modify’ an entity that exists. ‘Combine’ means to create a new entity as the summation of existing entities. Yes, that may or may not include modifying the existing entities. Have I not been clear?

I do not wish to change the existing logs, I want to understand what information, that I know to be present in the transferred files, is extracted by the MyRoute software, and whether all that has been extracted can be displayed in the current version of the software. From a previous poster I infer that I cannot do the latter but I should ‘watch this space’

I described the use of creating a new route and adding the track logs to produce a new route - immediately below the line you have quoted in the initial post. I believe I was clear that was not an acceptable method. That method to combine multi-day routes works well - ‘what I plan to do’ - I would like to be able compare that with - ‘what I actually did’ and see a compete set of all the data that was collected by my tracking devices.

@John-Matthews-0, well, we can conclude that the specific feature you wish for is not included in MRA. You might get lucky with the Web 2.0 Implementation of the new planner, but I would not hold my breath. The last app-version showed a new feature with statistics (no diagrams though) of a single (day)trip. I can well imagine that this triggers expansion towards sharing statistics across a multi day trip. So I am intrigued, but at the same time I think it is beyond a route planner or navigation app. But I do no represent MRA vision 😉 I know they fancy sharing functions.

You could try a feature request in the suggestions category.
